Ok this is embarrasing, but before I start a new relationship with a guy Ive been avoiding but really like, does anyone know if it Lyme is sexually transmitted? I did a search but only one article came up and it didnt really have an answer. Id ask my Dr. if he knew anything about Lyme disease! LOL. Thanks for any advice. Lisa

Lisa, last I heard (and it's been a while) that was still up in the air - but "probably" is a good answer to start with.
It's not easy to explain that without getting a bit graphic, so anyone easily offended tune out now...
If transmittable, it would most likely be more transmittable from male to female; that is, the person receiving "body fluids" is going to be more susceptible - which means his chances are low but get slightly higher if he performs oral sex... or sloppy kisses!
At least, that's what seems logical to me.

not sure why the repeat posts, Lisa...
Yes, I'm better - very good Lyme-wise. Ended up with a mild case of Parkinson's though (for real, not as a Lyme misdiagnosis). In theory brought on by the neuro Lyme, which I had for almost 10 years. No hereditary link for me; but of course they don't really know what all causes PD, but Lyme can be one of them.
Toxics can be another PD factor, so it's not impossible the long abx treatment contributed. But I'd rather be alive and running with my version of PD than a neuro vegetable with Lyme!
