Good morning.
In May I was declared Lyme free and have felt great. In August I had an extremely traumatic experience which is still causing some very serious stress. In the past three weeks I have had a constant headache. At first I thought it was from the stress but now I'm getting pain in my hands and night sweats just as I had with Lyme.
Can stress awaken any dormant keets? Is the Lyme back?
I'm seeing my doctor next week but just want to be prepared. Do I need antibiotics for Lyme or antidepressants for the side effects of the stress???
Please help.
Thanks.
Violet

Violet, could be both would help you. Trauma and stress can cause a Lyme flare-up. I hope you get both under control soon.

indeed could be both. stress has been known to lower the immune response and create a flare or full relapse in lyme patients. Do you have a good LLMD?

Violet,
I am going through the exact same thing at the moment myself. I was told I was lyme free in August 2005 and did feel better after treatment but the joint pain never went away and this May 2006 I began having severe depression. I too was undergoing a lot of stress. I was told it could not be lyme and have been on 4 different anti-depressants so far and nothing has helped. I am now seeking out a LLMD to sort things out.
I wish I could be more helpful to you but I certainly share your feelings and am happy to talk! Hope you feel better soon! [Smile]

Thanks for your input.
Yes, I have a LLMD. I have an appointment for next week. I suspect she will order a CD57. I don't know how reliable this test is, but we'll see where we go from there.
No, I wasn't treated for co-infections.

I was on abx for 2 1/2 years and was finally feeling really good this past spring til I was slammed with some major trauma and stress.
As the stress starts to ease, the pain and night sweats continue to get worse so now I'm getting stressed thinking the Lyme is back!! Vicious circle!!
