Hi Leogirl.

I'm another Leo Girl!

I'm sorry the herxing is making you feel rotten. You say you've been sick three years. How long have you been treating? Did you do orals for a while before IV? Sounds like you may have a high bacterial load that you're polishing off.

Are you doing anything good for yourself? Detox? Rest, extra sleep, lemon water? Getting some help?

It really won't last forever but it sure can be miserable. Be sure and keep your doctor in the loop about any symptoms that seem alarming, ok? And come post often.

Michelle

My LLMD ascribes to the "slow and steady wins the race" technique. You take full dosage and back off the meds when you herx hard.

You only stop briefly...like a day or two...until you feel better. Herxing constantly for the first year is pretty common in someone who's had it awhile.

Hang in there, and don't do anything I said without your dr's permission. I'm just saying that for your information.

You need to know that what you are going thru is common....albeit DIFFICULT!!!!

michellM & lymetoo

thanks for yur reply. my WB band 31+++ and band 34+. other bands were positive too. Dr. M also told me my load is extremely high.

my CD57 was 60 now it is down to 25. i'm running ut of natural killer cells.

all my other labs-TNF, interlukien were all elevated.

my doc describes it as me being a pot of soup simmering and my antiobiotic(even low dose) causes the pot to boil over. i like visuals

never started on orals. went right to rocephin. before starting on iv zithro, i was on 2 weeks of orals.

who know how long i've had it. i was a workout freak. living in montana you do outside stuff all the time-from mountain biking to winter stuf. plus i was a big weight lifter. maybe thats what kept it at bay

Don't worry about the CD57. We've had people here with a full range of numbers.

My natural killer cell count was 14, with normal being 20-250. I am now doing fine.

Just keep knocking down the spirochetes!

I have the 31+++ also; it is known to be a band that appears in late stage lyme. Meaning you've probably had it a while and DO have a significant bacterial load!

I really like this visual too.

Well, you may have some fairly intense herxing going on!

Do you have any co-infections or were you tested for them?

Hang on for a bumpy ride and check in often!

Michelle

Thanks for posting that leo, that's exactly how I feel.

You are lucky to have a doc that realizes and will work within parameters you can handle.

Good luck and I hope it gets easier soon.
