Hello Lymies!
I was clinically diagnosed with lyme today. Not the diagnosis I was hoping for, but in my heart, I felt this was coming.
Thanks to all of you who have shared such valuable information with me before I was even diagnosed. If it was not for this website and the wonderful people who are a part of it, I would have never even considered lyme as a cause of my problems.
You encouraged me to keep trying to find the cause, even when my GP and neurologist were leading me to believe that all my problems stemmed from anxiety (even though I never felt anxious). You have probably saved my life. SO -- on to wellness!
Today I started on 200 mg a day of Minocycline. Lots of blood was drawn and I have a follow up appt next week.
The follow up appt is for me to ask any questions that I have regarding lyme or my treatment. Any suggestions on questions that you feel would be most important to ask are appreciated.

Hi Lou Ann, Glad you have a diagnosis. Just wanted to say the Minocycline may knock you for a loop. You may want to start slowly. Sara

Welcome Lou Ann, Sounds like you're on the right track. I don't have any suggestions for questions to ask at your follow up. I do have a few suggestions though: read up about detox & probiotics here on LymeNet.
You should start taking probiotics now. Get heavy duty ones. I prefer Theralac: www.theralac.com. Drink a lot of water every day, limit sugar in your diet, start learning about the anti yeast diet, www.wholeapproach.com
My LLMD advises not to take any supplements (he beleives they feed the lyme) he also cautions: rocky road ahead, watch out for bumps.
Hoping you see some improvement soon.

The first time I went on minocin, it made me very dizzy. A known side effect. Later, it did not cause this. Just a heads up from another lou!

Lou4546,
Ask WHY he would'nt give you IV antibiotics immediately!
I wish I would have gotten them sooner and not the piddly ORALS I was on for six months and then had a MAJOR RELAPSE.
I NEVER had a major relapse from IV....
NOT cured yet either...
You may want to get a llmd......zman
