This lyme thing is all new to me, although I had suspicion of having this disease since I had knowingly been bit by a tick. Doctors first diognosed me with shingles and stuck with that even after producing a bullseye type rash. They did test for lyme but it came back negative.I was told the rash was a secondary infection from the shingles. Finally after many visits to the doctor with many symptoms, I was diognosed with lyme. I,m still waiting for second test results. My doctor says they will probably come back negative because it is common to test that way and still have the disease. How can I be sure of a correct diagnoses?

I hope you mean you have found an LLMD?! If you were previously tested thru QUEST or LabCorp....just telling you now....that they are BOTH lousy for Lyme testing.
A Bullseye rash is diagnostic for Lyme. Meaning...if you had the rash, you have Lyme. The shingles may have shown up due to your suppressed immune system.
You will get more replies in Medical. Any medical question such as this can go there.

I agree with TUTU... Bullseye means lyme infection...
I had a shingles like rash and REAL PAIN durring one of my six month major flareups in June of 2001.
If you don't get a llmd(lyme literate doctor) you'll be spinning your wheels...
