I'm sad to say that my tick-bitten cat finally lost her valiant battle to survive renal failure.
She put up a very brave fight, and had an extra 13 very good months no one thought she would have, but it was time to let her go.
They never proved it was lyme, but she went into complete kidney failure 3 weeks after a tick bite, and got remarkably better on abx. She was completely healthy before that.
May she rest in peace in that eternal litter box in the sky.

Hey Julie,
I'm so sorry to hear about your cat.
They give us such an incredible amount of comfort, and it's so hard to say good=bye.
Just know you're in my thoughts!

Dear Julie,
I am so sorry about the loss of your dear friend. I myself lost one of my cats a couple of months ago.
I still grieve her loss and miss her so. I would like to share with you a poem that has helped me cope with the loss of my dearest friends.
The Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor.
Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.
His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again.
The happy kisses rain upon your face; you hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together.........

Oh Julie,
This is so heartbreaking. I am so very sorry.
"Our" kitty really put up a stong and valliant effort. You did the absolute best that you could to keep her around for as long as she was.
Many prayers of comfort and acceptance are flying your way.
This may not mean too much to you at the moment, but I want you to know that we are in the process of creating a place both virtual and physical to Memorialize our lost animal families to TBDs as well with The National Lyme Disease Memorial Park Project.
When you are ready, please contact me, so your sweet kitty may be included.
Much love, Melanie
