Out of curiousity, for those for whom pain is a significant, Lyme-related symptom, are things considerably worse for you iat different times of the day?
For me, the pain is SIGNIFICANTLY more pronounced in the evenings (from late afternoon until I wake up in the morning). Upon waking, though, the first few steps are murder. After walking just a bit though, I'm usually semi=ok until the mid-late afternoon. By the time it's dark, though, I'm whipping out the Ultracet or Vicadin and wishing I could just sleep through it somehow.

Hi MRB,
Yeah, lyme pain really stinks, for me it really depends on how bad I am herxing or before starting my lyme treatment. I have had sevre unbearable pain which is very much better today because of abx treatment. (thank God for my LLMD)
Right now I have been in bad pain for 3 days straight and I am a bear. That is how my pain goes.. bad for so many days then it lets up. The difference today after my lyme treatment is that I actually have *good* days.
When it is a bad time for me, it does not mattter if it is night or day.
Sleep is very important to me also, and it's the one thing that always helped with the pain.
It gets better with treatment, so hang in there.

I'm physically worse in the morning, mentally worse (can't relax, agitated) at night. It's like the toxins are building up overnight while I'm not moving, and the stress of the day builds up and affects me by nighttime.

Michele, I was thinking about your post last night and this morning and have determined that, after initial stiffness in the morning, I'm pretty OK. At night I'm more uncomfortable - wonder whether the toxins build up all day and then get cleaned up at night.
I'm trying to have my husband run a massage-thingy on my back and legs shortly before bed, then I take 2 chlorella with lots of water to help with detox and go to sleep. Hoping that will mop up any stuff that gets pushed out of the muscles.

worse starting in middle of day into evening.
Used to not be a morning person. But hhen I wake up I am in such a fog it takes a while to get going. After I take my morning energy drink & supps I have the most energy. But lately I have the most energy in the beginning of the day & feel like an old battery running down as the day wears on.
For some odd reason starting around 10:00-11:00 I sometimes get a second wind. This is when I take alot of notes ect.. Not good because this is when I want to fall alseep. Maybe because I sleep till 11:00 am - maybe my sleep cycle influences things. Dunno. This is a strange disease.

When I was really sick my symptoms would turn on & off at different times of the day:
Hands worst during the night Brainfog in the morning Rib pain every afternoon until 11:00 pm Ankle & foot pain worse at night Able to think clearly midnight - 4pm
The only time I could catch up on work was after midnight when the rib pain turned off & my brain turned back on! hats

Dear Michele,
I have a younger sister whose name is spelled just like yours.
I wake up following a painful night (mostly hip and ear pain) and feel as if I am still sleeping. Balance issues, shortness of breath, eye swelling, etc. are present.
My hips hurt all day, but I manage. I have two small children and really have no choice.
Around 7:00 pm at night, I feel as if I had run into a brick wall. Increased nausea, pain, headaches, etc.
I can't wait for my children to go to bed, so I can.
Of course the several trips to the bathroom at night don't help.
Seems as if while I'm being treated for babs, my Lyme symptoms are slowly, but surely creeping back.
