I thought I'd provide an update to our daughter's (Nikki) progress as she undergoes treatments at an Hyperbaric O2 Center.

Nikki has been at the HBO location since the first of February and has done 25 dives to date.

After the first 8 to 10 dives she became really ill and had a real hard time getting up every morning to get to the chamber.

Now after 25 dives she is showing some real progress from the treatments.

Her migraines have just about disappeared, which is a real blessing. Her muscle and joint pain have decreased considerably, again another blessing.

She's still pretty sick and has no energy. She goes to her dives at 10:30 in the mornings and gets back to the apartment we've rented around 1:00 in the afternoon.

She sleeps from 2:00pm until around 6:00pm and then has a few good hours until she goes to bed for the night (my wife has taken a leave-of-absence from her job and is there with her).

We're really looking forward to getting her back home and see what the results will be.

I'll keep you all posted on her progress over the next few weeks.

FYI - I had originally posted a short video on YouTube of Nikki and the HBO chamber, but I was asked to delete the video because of HIPA issues.

Hi lymedad,

I am glad to hear that your daughter is feeling better from the treatment. I am also considering doing dives if this round of treatment fails.

Basically I was wondering if the dives worked for all the tick diseases, or just lyme.

Thanks for all the posts.

that is great to hear about your daughter.

Is she also on antibiotics while she does this therapy?

I was reading about these treatments not long ago, but I thought I recall my old ND that did them saying that people with lung problems

should not use them. Maybe I am wrong, but it rings a bell.

Thanks,

Trish

More recent updates:

Nikki has completed 36 dives now and has 4 more to go. We're all looking forward to returning home next week.

She's been doing one dive a day. They go down to 2.4 atmospheres (+/- 45 feet). They put on an Oxygen helmet and breath pure O2 for about 90 minutes.

She is showing remarkable (at least for us it's remarkable) improvements.

As I said before her migraines have just about disappeared (she was having almost non-stop migraines for the past 5 years).

Her overall muscle and joint pain has decreased on scale from about a 9 down to a 5 or 6.

She is extremely fatigued and has no energy, but we're told that should improve over the next 6 to 8 weeks.

It's been a rough couple of months. We're about tapped out financially. My wife and I have used up all of our vacation and sick time at work.

Let me tell you all, it's worth every penny and every minute of it.

I took Nikki to see her LLMD last week and he knew as she walked through his door that she was a different person from the last time he had seen her.

She's not cured by any means, but from a wheelchair to a smile is quite an accomplishment.

We have a great LLMD, an excellent HBO program and, most importantly, God Himself to thank.

For those of you who weren't sure, let me assure you that my daughter is living proof that God does answer prayers.

If anyone would like to correspond concerning the HBO treatments, cost, living arrangements, etc. don't hesitate to contact me via PM.

Sincerely,

LymeDad
