Hi everyone,
I am happy to announce that, after a year and a half hiatus, there will be another Lyme Out Retreat in May. It will take place at Spirit Fire, a retreat center in Leyden, MA (in north central MA near the MA/VT/NH borders) from the late afternoon on Firday May 25th to early afternoon on Sunday May 27th.
The retreat center includes sleeping accommodations for 20, a large carpeted activity room (called the great room), a full kitchen and dining/activity area, and beautiful views of the woods and hills surrounding it.
Here are some pictures of the building:
The Great Room (lots of light)
Another area in the Great Room
The Dining Room
A few pictures of the bedrooms
Activities will include:
* Yoga & Meditation * Sharing Circles (similar to support groups) * Drumming Circle * Creative Writing * Expressive Arts Exercises * Arts and Crafts * Great food and lots of R & R in a beautiful location!
The cost of the whole weekend - including sleeping accommodations, meals, and all activities - is $100. Full and partial scholarships, which are funded by donations and other fundraisers, are available to those who find the cost as a hardship. This retreat is intended for adults and teenagers and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Children can come but childcare and activities will not be provided.
This is the fourth Lyme Out Retreat. Previous retreats were held near Worcester, MA in November 2004 and May 2005 and in Duxbury, MA in November 2005. The new location for this retreat is beautiful and the retreat center is a wonderful building in a great location - relatively central for New England and New York Lyme patients.
For more information or to register, visit the Lyme Out Retreats website and click on "May 2007 Retreat" link on the lefthand side of the page. The registration form is available from there but be aware that registration is not fully completed until payment has been received. There are a limited number of spaces so register early to hold your spot!

Glad this got bumped up again!
Yes, there is a limit on the number of people (to keep it small and personal but also because of the limited number of beds). There is space for a total of 15 participants and some of the spaces are already full so register early!

I can vouch for the retreat, and for Annie, her mom, her brother (yummy food!), and for what a great time my son and I had there. There were activities, but you could take things at your own pace. Most important was connecting with others who understand.
Go!
