I'm new to the board and was just told by Carol to stick around and I would learn things to help me. How true...I am so thankful to all of you for the help I have already received.
I posted that I think I still have Lyme but that my blood tests have all come back negative so my rheumatologist refuses to entertain the possibility that this could be a false negative. All of my testing, since the 80's, have been done by Lab Corp or Quest. When I see him this week I wil request the lab you suggested to MB.
Thanks again, LMH

LMH, I had no luck with actually getting the Western Blot IgG and IgM done at Igenex, until I ordered the "test kit" from Igenex.
Look at their website, Igenex.com, and read some of the information on their links. You can call the company, and ask the receptionist to mail you a test kit for these two tests.
It won't cost you anything, and you are not obligated to get the test done, if you change your mind.
My family doctor's office kept saying, "We've never done this before." I read the instructions and the form that they fill out when drawing the blood, so that I understood what was involved on their part.
You send payment along with the vials of blood, as the company does not do insurance billing. The kit includes the necessary vials, and packing materials. There is an overnight shipping envelope for FedEx. The cost of shipping back to Igenex is included in the price of the tests.
I told the office I would pack the vial and call FedEx to pick up the package. It was not difficult.
The lab sends the results to your doctor in two weeks. Ask your doctor to make a copy for you to have, and you can post your results here for help in interpreting them.
So, look at the Igenex website. Call the toll free phone number and request a kit for Western Blot IgG and IgM.
When you go to your doctor with this in hand, it will be much easier for him/her to agree to your request to get the test done.
Tell him you'll pay for it yourself, they won't have to worry about submitting it to insurance. Tell him you'll take care of shipping it.
It's more work on your part, but if you want this screening test, you have to make it as easy for the doctor as possible.
Because it's just too easy for them to say no.

Thank you Carol. Wish I were still up North as I see you're in Lancaster. I was in Oxford, Pa and had better luck with physicians in the Philadelphia area.
Thanks for the tip on how to get this testing done. I have no problem doing the leg work, paying for the tests and delivering them if I have to. If all my physician has to do is get the results then he may be more amenable to doing that for me.
Yes, I will post the results for interpretation. Thank you again, Lorraine
