I find myself really, really frightened of Lyme. The more I read, the more stories I hear, I realize how potentially disabling this can be. Today my eye is twitching. Last night my leg was restless and achey, I couldn't sleep. I'm not normally an anxious person, but I worry that I will make myself sick over this. I'll wind up with every Lyme symptom, real or not.

What you should fear the most is NOT receiving treatment. Think of all the people in the world who do not know they have Lyme and will never be treated for it.

Hi Calimar- I remember clearly my second visit to an LLMD when bloodwork came back positive -I felt such relief for confirmation, but then freaked out by the gravity of the situation.
I will tell you-had I been treated aggressively when first reported to Primary Care Doctor I probably would have been spared the effects of persistent or chronic lyme.
I wasn't scared enough, or informed enough the first time around, so I naively accepted 3 weeks of normal dose Ceftin as enough treatment.
You're still a newbie-in the know-so insist on the proper treatment and you will spare yourself a lot of the stuff that frightens you. Be proactive now and you will be okay.
For many people Lyme is not debilitating-they have a life and no time to hang out on Lymenet all day-so , as someone on board says "if you want your life back-take it!" but take it NOW by going straight away to an LLMD.
