Thank you guys for continuing to pray for my family. My grandfather's health has gotten worse. He is now so weak he cannot talk, not even to whisper. He asked to be taken off all medication on Saturday and knew what it meant.
We are taking turns sitting with him around the clock. My husband is with him overnight tonight. They don't expect him to live very much longer. He is in a lot of pain so they're keeping him in the hospital for management and care.
I paused my treatment so I won't herx - please don't tell me I shouldn't - I just cannot herx right now. Most of my family doens't know I have lyme disease, and now is not the time to tell them. I'm needed maybe more than ever and have my daily responsibilities as well as all these new ones.
I'll go back on my doxy as soon as things calm down. My llmd wants people to pause when they herx, so I'm thinking of this as a herx pause.
I think I've reached my plateau on doxy anyway and need to move to the next abx.
Please pray that my grandfather won't suffer and for strength for my grandma. She's lost everything in just a few short weeks and has had to move in with my mom, so even her house is five hours away and essentially lost to her. I'm very worried about her.
I miss lymenet and will be back as soon as I can. You guys seem to be the only ones who understand.
Love, Sarah L.

Dearest Sarah,
I am so sorry to hear about your grandfather....
I am asking the Lord to send his Angels to wrap him in their wings.
To gently, painlessly lead him to Heaven.
I am also praying for your grandmother,
You and the rest of your family.
You do what you need to in order to get through this most difficult time.
We are here if you need us.
Hugs,
Geneal

It is always difficult to find the words to say to someone in your situation. I am one who just can't stand it when someone says, "I know exactly how you feel." People can go through similar events, have people they love die and still not know what someone else feels.
I am just now beginning to truly understand that death is a part of life. The more people we love, the more people we are likely to outlive.
It is amazing what follows the death of a beloved one. At first there is so much grief that it seems endless and the sorrow interferes with daily living. Sometime later, which is very different for everyone, comes a time when just thinking of the one we loved brings a flood of incredibly wonderful memories.
I hope that you and your entire family will be comforted by the memories you have of your grandfather and the roles he has had in your lives. I pray your grandmother will learn to adjust to life without him.
And I wish you a "peace that surpasses all understanding."
Please take good care of yourself during this very stressful time. And post here whenever you can.
