Good morning all.

Saw my LLMD yesterday. First I saw his physician's assistant, who looked

At my daughter's Igenex test and said "You know your daughter has Lyme disease."

I had mentioned my less than productive consult with her pediatrician and that I was hoping that

Our LLMD would treat her. He told me that our LLMD does not do pediatrics.

He said that I could always ask....Of course I asked.

I said to my LLMD....

I prayed and Lymetoo sent me your name.

I prayed and got an appointment with you.

I pray that you will help me to help my baby.

There is no one else....no one that I would trust with my most precious child.....

Please help me....and my daughter.....and maybe my son....(his test results still were not in)

I am crying as I write this....

He looked at me and said if it were anybody else asking.....he would say no...

For me, he will treat my daughter and son if he needs it.

Woke up this morning...still exhausted from my day yesterday...started at 3:00 am when I woke up

And couldn't go back to sleep...drove 250 miles each way to LLMD ...got home at 9:00pm last night.

I realize how grateful to God I am....and really how blessed.

I thank God for this board....without you guys, I don't wouldn't have

Found a LLMD or have gotten the unconditional support, unconditional encouragement, unconditional love....

I thank God for my LLMD. Enough said.

I thank God that I have Lyme.....What??!!!You may ask.

I had to think this one out.

If I hadn't found out that I have Lyme, then my husband wouldn't have found out,

My neighbor, her mother and her son wouldn't have found out.

I would have never considered this for my daughter...she could have gone undiagnosed for years and years.

Thank you God for letting me have Lyme so that I could recognize the symptoms in my child

and others and allow me to help them get better.

I am so grateful to all of you, my LLMD, and my slow, but steady journey to getting well.

I am really so blessed.

Of course I am greatful for so many things, but I wanted to share this with you all...

For who I thank God for every day.

Hugs,

Geneal

Good morning Geneal,

Your post made me cry. You express yourself wonderfully.

I hate lyme but I thank god for the lessons about life this has taught me.

I am a much more caring and understanding person now.

I think everything happens for a reason. I wish I didn't have this..and that no one else did either..but it has taught me many life lessons and I believe it has made me a better person.

I am so happy for you that the LLMD agreed to treat your children.

Get some rest today, sounds like you had a really big day yesterday. [sleepy]

Oh Geneal,

I am in tears too. I thank God for your LLMD and you and your kids and your husband and neighbors and...

...for you posting all the connections of life-saving moments that remind us that we are blessed by the little things that add up to big things.

...and for grace...

you possess so much grace.

Thinking about and praying for you all,

Thank you for sharing with us.

I am grateful that my daughter & sil are finally getting their 5 yr. old tested. I've believed for a long time that he has LD, but their PCP wouldn't give them a referal. Finally, they decided to go ahead with it themselves and found a pediatric LLMD. Apparently his symptoms have gotten worse. Mostly he has headaches, knee aches, RAGES, and now, cognitive issues.

Please pray for him ( and his parents)

This is good news general geneal.

I kind of had the same strange thought...at least you had lyme so you were able to help your children.

And others.

So, glad you are getting the help too. What a relief.

What a beautiful post.

I have finally (7 yrs) been given a correct dx

as of last week. I, too, have been thanking God,

but in my case, it is because I know exactly

when, where, how, etc., it got the tick: My

precious son was covered with ticks (clothing)

from playing in the nearby woods without spraying

himself first. I was taking his clothing off,

etc. and got two on myself, I discovered a few

days later, when I saw the bullseye on my stomach.

I will always believe that the tick got me instead of my son. I also believe that there

is some really important business God intends for

me to do--otherwise He would not have allowed

this for me. The complications from ld untreated

for 7 yrs, as well as diabetes and other challenges

has made my life very different from what is was.

But I gave my life to Jesus many years ago, and I

know suffering is only needless when WE let it be.

I'm very blessed to have found you guys.

Dear Bobbysgirl,

I ams so glad you found us too.

Just a heads up. I have never seen an embedded tick on either of my children.

I have seen ticks (2) crawling on my daughter's skin, which I immediately removed and killed.

I have never seen a tick on my four year old son.

Not only did my daughter test positive for Lyme, but just found out last week my son did too.

I believe my four year old son may have gotten Lyme from me.

I believe I was infected the month I got pregnant with him...

I never saw a tick on me and never had a rash either.

Shoot, it is possible that both of my kids have gotten it from me.

I never had a rash...Neither have my children.

I had them Igenex tested to make sure.

Probably the best thing I could have ever done for myself and my children.

So glad you found your way here.

Sending you positive thoughts and healing prayers.

Hugs,

Geneal

Geneal,
Excellent point--in the process now of getting

him tested. He's a "big boy" now, 20 yrs old,

but still my baby . I'm not too sure that my

aunt who died a few yrs ago from complications

of MS and RA (took too much steroids-resulted in vasulitis (sp?) ) didn't actually have LD.

I distinctly remember telling my (really ignorant) md that I felt exactly like she looked.

Well, maybe that is part of why I kept looking

for the correct dx. But thanks again for the

lovely thoughts and for your beautiful words.

hi geneal,

i totally can identify with you since my daughter now knows and has been treated for lyme because i know and have been treated for lyme.

it's very important to feel gratitude whenever you can and you just reminded me that i can feel grateful i have support on this board and elsewhere.

i thought i was having a relapse last week. now, i'm not so certain. i made an appointment with my doctor for september, which was the soonest i could see him.

yep. gratitude is a good thing!!

I have hand-out info, and it scares me to death. I will get some of it on here.

One thing is you dont have to evan get bit by a tick, to get Lyme's.....!

Just being bit by a misquito, that just bit some one that has Lyme's, is all it take's.......!

And you now have Lyme's, and will neaver know how,or what you have, till it's found out later.

If 1,000 spirakett's only make 1" on the ruler, how many of them is on the "Skitter's" little needle when he stab's ya next.....?

It also said that if mom has Lyme's, and when she has the baby, that the baby will be free, of Lyme's, Unless she breast-feeds the baby. Then the baby will have it also.

And if one person has Lyme's in the family, within 3-5 years, everyone will get it,evan the pet's too.

The CDC is fianly being forced to let some of this info out,and it scares me to death, that there are so many people out thAre that have no-clue, as to what's happen'ed to them.

I will scan some of this info, copy&paste it on here, for ya's. I dont want to scare anyone, but knowing all this, is better than not knowing at all, and wondering. Tex [Razz]

Hi Geneal: I am grateful that when we have lyme, like you, we will be able to help others and prevent their suffering. It comes full circle.

As severe as my lyme has been, I am lucky and grateful to be alive. I echo the sentiments of my dear friend, 5 Dana 8. Life is precious. Hugs to you and your family.

Thank you all.

It's funny Dar that you mentioned mosquitos today.

We happen to be part of the mosquito abatement program in our area.

Caught the guys checking the mosquito traps, from where they collect and count mosquitos weekly.

Asked if what they sprayed killed ticks? No.

Does it kill biting flies? No.

Will it kill anything but mosquitos? No.

Great. So I mention that we are having a real problem with Lyme in our area,

And although we believe the tick to be the probable vector,

we are all very concerned re: mosquitos.

The poor guy was in shock. Uh.....um.....mosquitos don't carry lyme.

Really???!!!

I told him to check with his epidemiologist, but yeah, they do.

I also told him to be very careful out there.

He was practically running for his truck!

Good thing mosquitos don't carry 'em. Sheesh!

Hugs,

Geneal

I'm grateful that I only have 4 more days of flagyl left.

I am extremely grateful that I learned here that I can dip my flagyl in olive oil and it goes down smooooooth.

I am grateful that I am doing infusions so that I have a good excuse to pop in a movie.

I am grateful my kids play softball on the same team so I can sit on the sidelines for two hours and breath fresh air.

I am grateful that I now have a good excuse to wear stretch jeans(to keep the ticks from crawling up my pants).

I am grateful that no one said "I told you so..." when I did two months of peripheral IV before getting a picc.

I am grateful that I am not allergic to the new dressing material.

I am grateful.(period)

I'm grateful I know which way to turn the pages in a book now since treatment began.

to be continued later-gotta run to the library for more movies, readings, etc , then go to this evening's softball game. Tough life [Big Grin]

Dear Cobweb,

I am grateful to hear from you. I was getting a little worried

Since I haven't read any humorous quips from you lately.

I like stretch jeans too.

Have to admit Geneal, flagyl wears me out. I don't feel that bad now, just sluggish as in "like a slug", too much effort to respond sometimes. I have been following your situation closely.

I save my energy for things like setting up my folding chair. My daughter C caught the high fly ball to center field this evening ensuring another win for the Blue Belles! [woohoo]

I thank God for friends here,too-and the opportunity to go to bed early! I don't even care who won American Idol !

God Bless Us , Everyone.
