Here I am. I've just been a bit overwhelmed by my life and battling depression. I guess the antidepressants were making a difference there.
I actually felt much better for at least a month & then spiraled downward again. It looks like the Babs is bashing me again and I've got another round of Mepron to do.
Why won't it stop coming back?!
LLMD is thinking about making changes to my ABX. Igenex came back negative. I would really like to have some proof. Oh well, I guess symptoms vs tx will just have to do for now.
I've really missed everyone. I just can't seem to keep up anymore. I have trouble following threads, I keep forgetting what I was doing & getting sidetracked. I got disgusted too because of losing my replies. That's SOOOOo frustrating! Especially when I can't seem to write anything short of a novel.
Gotta go now, DD's calling me. Hopefully, maybe I can get back in the swing of things. Thanks for missing me. You're both really great people!
Ali

Betty, my sweetie! Thanks for wishes & hugs & kisses.
I was sorry to read that you had to have surgery. I hope that it has served you well. Are you feeling better, yet?

hi ali!
yes, it's been 2 months since hip surgery; began walking last week with a cane vs. walker!
still very painful; at moment see NO benefits but look forward to it down the road.
surgery brought on 24/7 urine incontinence! $$ for all those depends! glad we're not on a budget; almost $140/month for those!!!
i just hate this; saw urologist; "you can't hold your urine; can't do surgery" referred me to iowa city or mayo clinic.
will have to pursue this after getting hubby tested for parkinson's tuesday; never a dull momement here. his caregiving for me brought his essential tremors to a head! he stops dead in his tracks; can't move for 2-5 minues; shuffles his feet, and stares!
other than that; life is good! appealing my $3800 out of pocket 06 expense for my LLMD, etc. sent that off this week.

Hey Tutu, my buddy, I've missed you too! back at ya!
LLMD told me no artemisinin way back when. Maybe I should bring it up again. How much were you taking, how often & (if you don't mind my asking) what's your weight? Was it just Zith & Art?
Did you have neuro symptoms? I suspect he may have been concerned about giving me more brain damage. Everyone here knows I've got enough of that!
Maybe since I had made some progress, with my scrambled brain, he might reconsider it.
I know he didn't want to do the clindamycin & quinine with me because the potential adverse reactions/side effects can be devestating(sp). He actually had a patient end up with the bone marrow problems and anemia once, as a result of that Tx, and hasn't Rxd it since.
I noticed that, this time, there's a refill listed on the Mepron. I suspect he may be considering a 2 month course. I'll have to ask him again why he vetoed the artemisinin for me.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks Cassie,
I appreciate your kind words. I guess maybe the more depressed I got, the more I stayed away and the more I stayed away, the more depressed I got.
I don't like feeling like I'm always complaining and "everything's always about me". I like to feel like I give back and that just seemed to be so difficult to do for a while.
My Dad's been REALLY ill & relying on me a great deal for everything. My grandmother is likely to pass any day now. My DD's just been too much to handle at times. My DH's just been too busy to get involved or help out with anything except criticism. I actually just wanted to run away, but I've got nowhere to go and they'd probably all find me anyway.
Oh that's just enough of that!!!!!! That's exactly what I don't want to do!
, There! That's better. Now, if I can just make that smile stick!

That's something I really admire about you, Betty! No matter how much poop you have to deal with, you always seem to manage to get things done!
I thought they had some kind of pill now for incontinence. Have you been trying to do Kegel excercises at all? I know they say that they help with that.
If you're on ABX, be extra careful with the probiotics for yeast infection prevention. Yeast likes a damp climate.
I'll continue to keep you in my prayers. I hope you recover super-quickly and I'll pray for your hubby too! Ali

Ali....Your dr sounds very conservative in his treatments. One or even two months of mepron rarely results in a "cure" as far as I know.
I took clindamycin/Q off and on for nearly two yrs! Bone marrow never suffered a bit...no anemia either.
The quinine may have caused my tachycardia, but I really think it was the babs. It first showed up during a babs herx on the C/Q.
I took artemisinin [I think 100mg three times a day] for about 2 months along with zithromax.
Haven't treated for it since. I think it worked!
I'm sorry to hear about your dad and your grandmother... and I understand about your desire to run away. My husband always says he wants to run away. Poor thing can't stand living with me!!

ali, thank you for the compliment on getting things done! i never used to procrastinate; now i do and it takes forever since my mind doesn't want to cooperate with my hands when i type! i am persistent and worked with a co-worker who was persistent too.
yes, i tried 1 new med; didn't phase me! had a good 10-16 hrs. yesterday with NO accidents! celebration big time. not the same today.
ketex exercises; will have to try that and see if there are diffences.
7 strong pain pills left from my surgery, and they MAY help, but since i've got high painn, i'll use them up and then we'll see.
no antibiotics or supplements right now; i'm just coasting and dealing with other issues that need to be.
last yeast tests i did showed both types!
ali, i'm so sorry to read about your terminally ill dad. do you have HOSPICE where he/you live that could provide him some care and make it less of a burden to you?
poor grandma will be joining grandpa or others of her family, and looking forward to her journey.
ali, don't know if i sent you earlier my newbie links/advice, but here is my sympathy poem collection and it has a few inspirational ones in it too! hope they might comfort you.
