I'm really scared about Bicillin injections. I have only taken 3 injections and don't have an appointment with my LLMD until June 1st. I just read in Bryan Rosners 2007 book top 10 trmtns of Lyme that it can actually make things worse long term by putting the LYme into cyst form.........

Any opinions about this?????

Thanks so much

Gus

Its a proven fact that the penicillins can cause conversion to cystic form.

Take something with it that inhibits the P450 pathway, such as Diflucan.Thats why I did and knock on wood, a year off bicillin I have not relapsed, although I am getting symptoms back.

Bicillin put me into remission, i just didn't take it long enough.

I'm getting ready to start Bicillin as well and am wondering what the cp450 has to do with prevention of cyst formation and why use diflucan.

Any info on this will be helpful.

Bicillin and plaq have been my miracle drugs for my lyme disease. My llmd prescribed this combo and I have complete faith in him that he would not put me on a drug that would make my lyme worse.

Bicillin worked excellent for me! I did the injections 3-4x per week for over a year and I made a great deal of progress on it. Your LLMD will advise you as what to do. Although Lyme bacteria can convert to a cyst form, this does not mean you should not be treated! It just means you will likely need to add a cyst buster to your protocol at some point. Most doctors use a pulsed cyst buster such a Flagyl along with Bicillin and other meds to treat Lyme. Please don't be scared about what you read, it is only a small part of the research and entire treatment picture.
Bicillin is wonderful stuff...keep it up! [Smile]
