That's what the pioneers wrote on their wagons as they headed to Texas! My great-great-great grandparents didn't do so. They arrived on a boat in Galveston, straight from Germany around 1848.
They got there too late for the war of independence from Mexico, but part of my husband's family was there and fought [& died] at the Alamo.
They were in the group that showed up late but stayed even though they knew they would likely be dead in a short period of time.
If you ever get bored, read about Texas history! It's so fascinating and inspiring. I used to LOVE teaching it to my 4th and 5th graders!
One of my students was an ancestor of William Barret Travis, the commander who "drew the line in the sand." I told him to NEVER forget his ancestors name, as that was something to be proud of!
Well....I definitely digressed!!! I posted this to let you know I'll be gone for about 3 weeks....Gone to Texas!

You'll be passing through my husband's dear Oklahoma, but we don't Mess with Texas.
You know why the wind blows from north to south in Oklahoma, don't ya?

Oh yes, we always go through OK even though it's closer as the crow flies through AR. If AR would ever straighten out their roads, we could go that way!!
Kelmo....yeah, I'll try not to laugh too hard at the joke! At least OK is easy to drive through!
