New York Lyme Patients! Governor Eliot Spitzer's new Commissioner of Health, Richard Daines, MD, is waiting to hear our personal testimonies. At the Listening Forums, we discovered that the NY DOH does not know how Lyme patients are suffering. We have to tell them. We've sent letters to the New York State Legislature, to news media, to Oprah, etc! This is another way to get our stories out to make a difference.

We have set up a form for three purposes:

First, to facilitate inclusion of relevant information.

Second, to tabulate numerical data that will be readily available to all Lyme patients and to everyone, including the Commissioner of Health.

Third, to give New York Lyme patients a chance to have a better and more accurate accounting of their cases.

Please write your letter to Commissioner Daines. You may choose to include your name and address or remain anonymous by only including your location and age. Also please note that whatever information that is included in the form will be used solely for compiling data. All your information will be kept strictly confidential and the data will be used to urge government and medical officials to help our cause.

Our hope is that you fill out the form and also write the letter and cc (see directions) You have options. If you choose to write your own letter and not submit the form, you can use the form as a guide to include relevant information and then, please let us know that you wrote a letter to help out.

The NYS DOH is there to serve us! Let's put that service into motion!

Thank you for your continued strength and support.

(Much thanks to many for all their help)

Hi Eva,

I just Emailed the form to the Comm. of Public Health. What a great opportunity for all of us New Yorkers, whether a Lyme patient or a family member, to stand up and be counted. People in authority need to know just how many people are suffering from this disease and that the only help we can get is from our wonderful LLMDs.

Thanks so much for posting this.
