Right now I feel like there are needles poking at me.. all on my right arm and leg. It's a weird burning sensation. My right hand is completely asleep.

I'm having trouble reading and pronouncing words. I hate all these weird, unsettling symptoms.

I want to be normal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It can be strange at times.

Yesterday I went to an event that our town had. I saw one of my daughter's friend's mom and dad there. They kept looking at me like I should know them and I had no clue who they were.

Finally they asked if I was my daughter's mom ... I said yes and still wondered who they were for a few more seconds. Once I recognized the woman, I had no clue how I didn't know who she was.

I also have trouble with word recall, getting off path when driving, and short term memory.

It does get unsettling. I am getting a lot better ... before I couldn't go to the grocery alone, now I can. It takes time.

As difficult as it is sometimes, I try to laugh at myself.

I don't always succeed.

Here I am a Speech Pathologist of over 17 years unable to find the most simple words.

I detest it, but try to laugh about it.

If that doesn't work, I try to internalize how this makes me feel.

Hopefully will go back to work one of these days.

Now I can empathize what stroke patient's go through with word recall problems.

Hang in there.

Hugs,

Geneal

Your capability is probably still there.

I know what you mean these symptoms can get very scary at times.

I thought I was destined to a low IQ, no word finding, etc. then I had Hyperbaric Oxygen treatment for six weeks and I felt like I got my pre-Lyme back. Hadn't felt that mentally sharp in years. So now that I'm back to the crummy state, I guess I jsut try to hang on to the hope that my real brain is still in there and with the right treatment I can get back to normal again. We're all just waiting on the right treatment -us neuro-lymies.

Have you been tested for Neuro-Lyme? The symptoms you describe are those that one who has Nuero-Lyme can experience. I have Nuero-Lyme and I have trouble very frequently with the whole "WORD" problem. It sucks, BIG TIME. I don't know about you, but for me, I feel really stupid a lot because I have trouble pronoucing and remembering words and I stutter sometimes.

Ask your LLMD or your Willing-to-Recognize Lyme MD about ordering an MRI to find out if you have Nuero LD. If you do, then the treatment for your overall Lyme will probably change and you'll see your symptoms improve.

Take Care!

Lymetoo,

You know what? Good question. I think everyone with Lyme has it to some extent seeing as this damn disease invades the whole body, but I guess those who have symptoms more pronounced and severe (ie seeing lesions on an MRI and having the physical symptoms) are classified as having Nuero Lyme. I really don't know though. I have been fortunate enough to go see the best LLMDs and they tell me that it is kind of its own disease.

I already forgot what I wanted to say. ha ha

I actually showed up at the wrong doctors office for my appointment a year ago. And still, they just thought it was anxiety.

One thing I've noticed though is that I sometimes stutter now, but usually only when I'm super emotional about something.

I tend to mix letters up, too, when I'm typing a word. Like instead of carol, I'll write craol. I've been doing that for awhile now.
