I don't know how many of you remember me (I haven't been here in awhile!) but I thought I'd give you a quick update on us.
We moved to Colorado a year and a half ago to be near our LLMD. About a week after moving we found out I was pregnant...unplanned.
August 11, 2006 I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She tested negative for lyme but positive for Bartonella. We treated her for six months.
She is now almost a year old and is doing wonderful! We just recently found out I'm pregnant again...also unplanned!
I'm doing good but now our LLMD is closing down his practice and we are on the hunt for a new doc.
All of that to say that even though I'm still sick we are living life and having fun. I have bad days and I have times when I'm very frustrated with STILL being sick, but we are doing good!

Wow! Beautiful little girl! Congrats on the new one too.
It is nice to know that you can still have healthy kids even though we may be sick.
Would you mind telling us if you were on meds during pregnancy?
I wanted to have more kids but was recently diagnosed and I guess I assumed there would be no more babies.
It kind of broke my heart, but you gave me some hope. best wishes! Melissa

Congratulations! What a beautiful girl!
Having had Lyme so long, I do sometimes wonder if I'll be able to get pregnant once I settle down and am ready to try. It's good to hear the success stories.

When I was pregnant with Zadie we did Rocephine shots (1 gram three times a week) and Zithromax for the first trimester. After that I took Amoxicillin and Zithro.
I really really believe that the Rocephine for the first trimester is what kept her from getting the Lyme.
This time around I am on the Rocephine and Zithro for hopefully the whole pregnancy. I tolerate both well and feel that they are my best chance for having a healthy baby.
Dr. J. recommended this and that's what we've been doing!
ps. I forgot to add that we had decided NOT to have biological children and to adopt because of the risk of giving this illness to a baby.
My pregnancy (ok, both of them) was unplanned and a big surprise. With my llmd and Dr. J we managed to have a healthy baby girl

What a beautiful little girl.
Congratulations on the second upcoming bundle of joy.
Stay well. Get plenty of rest now while you can.
I have two young ones, eighteen months apart.
No naps for this Mom!
