Hello. I am a news reporter/anchor and LLMD believes I have Lyme. Currently being treated. My sister also had it and was misdiagnosed, etc... like the rest of you.. Now I want to do a news series on this whole thing, and I'm looking for local people who have stories to tell. Please email me at [email protected]. Please make the subject line obvious, like "Lyme Story to tell." Thank you! Noreen

Hey thar..
I just made a post under Medical Section to see if we can find some help for you. Any Billhillies we have out that way should come calling soon.
Check with the folks at the Lovingston Veterinarian Center (Nelson County).. don't know the name of the place for sure .. on right side of Rt. 29 headed south... just south of Lovingston proper.
They may be able to help you?
Also some folks in Amherst... and if you go to the Farmers market on Saturday and ask around.. they can help you find them.
And then there are the rangers in the park. Try Mabry Mill area.. or Rocky Knob Visitor Center and ask around for folks.

welcome noreen to the board! we'll be looking forward to reading your lyme stories about lymies in your area!
2 other suggestions to find Virginia folks:
1. go to SEEKING DRS.; read down looking for VIRGINIA folks in subject line. click on any that match areas you are wanting. you can send them a private message, pm, from where you'll read there post.
click on post you want to read, and then click on PENCIL ICON to right of person's nickname you want to pm.
show your subject line like above post; paste your comments into the body to save you time. click send when done.
copy of it will go in your PM sent box; 60 max for IN/OUT box!!
2. go to SUPPORT GROUPS; left hand side by state; click on your state to find the nearest support group to area you want.
follow their directions if they want phone calls or emails from folks; many folks to sick to reply 1 way vs. other!
good luck now!
i also sent you my pm of 60 pages newbie links, advise, symptoms, tests, disability, much more, and TREEPATROL'S archive of over 1000+ good links of info!

Thanks to both of you for your help, and I'm following up. Tincup, when you say "some folks in Amherst," do you mean there are folks there suffering from Lyme and having been misdiagnosed? Same question with your other suggestions. Still trying to figure out how to navigate this site. So if people from my area want to contact me... [email protected] may be best way.
