I had a picc put in yesterday and was given the first dose of rocephin (2g). supposed to be on the rocephin for 4 weeks. I have been dx with neurological lyme and I have been sick since June.

After getting my dose of med. It was like my neurological symptoms went on a rampage. I began to experience a burning sensation in my chest, back, arms, face, and severe tingling in my

hands. I began to have chills, and severe tremors, i felt like I was going to die. This lasted about 2 hours and then kinda calmed down

leaving me just completely exhausted. I am not feeling well today and am supposed to give myself the rocephin at 3pm.

Is this herxing or maybe an allergic reaction to the med?? I believe you that have lyme could tell me better than the doctors at this point.

thank you for your response!

It COULD be herxing, but to be safe I would call your dr to tell him your reaction. If he is lyme literate he will know what to do. I wouldnt mess around and assume anything.
