My sister was just DX'd with cancer of the liver (see off topic - very important info there next) and she sent me the below. _______________________________________________ Dear Bit, I found this because they deal so much with cancer, but the first thing listed is autoimmune disorders - wouldn't that be you????
Patient Advocate Foundation's Co-Pay Relief (CPR) Program provides direct co-payment assistance for pharmaceutical products to insured Americans who financially and medically qualify. We are pleased to announce that beginning on January 1, 2006 CPR will begin welcoming new Medicare Part D beneficiaries who require assistance with their pharmaceutical co-payments. I called and they said they don't "do" Lyme. I figured, if enough of us call and ask for their support, they might start "doing" Lyme.
I will say they did try to help me with my virus problem (CMV, HHV VI, West Nile and Epstein Barr) by getting me into a GSK program for the medication Valtrex, and, I MIGHT qualify for that. (Cross fingers as I am so ill and desperate right now for it) $235 a month for Valtrex as I am in the "donut hole".
Cheers all, and if you need some help with paying for all thise meds and making the co-payments PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE call them about LYME!

They are a great organization. They also help people who are having difficulty getting their insurance to cover medical bills.
Another good resource for inexpensive drugs is www.pparx.org, which is a database put together by the pharmaceutical lobby, PHRMA, of discounts available directly from drug manufacturers. Each manufacturer has their own income limits. But if you qualify, you can get some drugs for free and others heavily discounted.
