First of all, I apologize to any of you who receive this multiple times. About a month ago I was cruising Lowe's Home Center website looking at clothes dryers when I saw this contest they were having. It was called "Find Your Inspiration" and you had to take a photo, create a color from it, and tell why it inspired you. So I took one of my photos from Argentina from a trip my wonderful brother took me on several years ago when I was feeling well, created the color "Lago Argentino" and forgot about it.
This past week I got a call that I am one of 25 national finalists out of about 1200 entrants. I couldn't believe it! I've never won anything in my life! I have already won a $100 gift card, but if by some miracle I win the whole thing I would get a room remodel done worth about $25,000. Nope, I can't even conceive of it...
The winner will be determined by online voting from today until Labor Day, one vote per person per day. You do have to register, but I can tell you if you don't select to get their emails they really don't send them. They do send you coupons worth $10 or $20 a couple times a year through the mail.
Anyway, if you would vote for me, and maybe encourage anyone you know on a list or something to vote I would really, really appreciate it. It would be lovely to bring my kitchen from 1906 to 2007. And for those of you who don't know me personally, I am disabled from Lyme disease and on a very limited income, so this really is a chance in a millon.
To vote go to: http://www.lowesfindinspiration.com/finalists.asp?finalistID=14 My pic is on the 3rd row, 2nd from right. If you click on it you will be taken to another page and you will have to again choose the pic from a bar on the bottom. It's labeled "Lago Argentino, Valerie, Jim Thorpe, PA These blues from my trip to Patagonia are inspiring my bathroom remodel." Here's what it looks like:
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK! I know this is a pain in the butt, but I really appreciate it! I promise a major party if I win! And may my current good luck karma pass on to all of you.

Oh my...::I actually have tears in my eyes, goofy I know:: I was out all day yesterday seeing my LLMD's (yeah, I have TWO), and saw all these this morning. Thank you SOOOOOO much. If I don't win it certainly isn't because of the help from the Lyme community. Love you all!

valerie, would you copy/paste the DIRECT link to your top post deleting the other one? a real timesaver for us who are voting.
darn it, i've tried for last 2 days to vote daily for you, but it says my info is wrong, and I know it is correct. tried a different password, and no, it won't let me vote.
wanted you to know i'd been trying though!

Okay, Betty I edited the top post to go directly to my entry...I can only blame Lyme brain for not thinking of it myself! In terms of the problem with registering, I actually called them today and complained because several people have told me they have had problem with the validation code. Probably too late, but at least I voiced my objections!
Thanks again everyone!!!

Also...wouldn't this post be considered solicitation? You're asking us to vote for you, for monetary gain.

Carol, in response to the above: 1) I am NOT a professional photographer, I took it with my little Canon digital.I'm glad you thought it was pretty. 2)This doesn't fit any definition of solicitation I know of as I am not selling anything or asking anyone here to directly send me any money.
The contest ends tomorrow. I know I have very little chance of winning, but I appreciate the SUPPORT many people here have given me, win or lose. Please do NOT vote for me if you feel that I'm "soliciting" your vote.

One day to go...boy will I be happy when this contest is over, one way or the other. I definitely do NOT need the added stress!
It has, however inspired me to put some more photos from my trip up on the web. Be forewarned, they are not organized or labeled at all yet, but I hope to get to that soon if you want to check back later, but I wanted to get the website up before the end of the contest. http://picasaweb.google.com/valbethw
