I'm devouring everything and anything I can find about LD right now; one thing (amongst many) that confuses me is - is there a 100% yes or no to the question whether LD is contagious or not?

Also.. something that I can't stop thinking about.. I've contracted LD more than 15 years ago, was not treated properly, and had a baby a year ago. How likely is it she has LD also? I was also breastfeeding, does that increase the chances of her being affected? There's SO much confusing information out there; what is the consensus??

Thanks

Angiebug,

Stay on this site and read to your hearts content,,,not nearly as much bad info here!!

Lyme is not really considered contagious in the strict sense of the word.

Many think it is 'possible' to pass it from male to female during sex. My LLMD said that wasnt so,,,many years ago,,but that thinking my change with new evidence.

It is well established that whole families experience it at the same time,,,that leads us to believe either your area is loaded with infected ticks OR maybe kids were born with it,,,passed thru placenta during pregnancy or breast milk while nursing.

ABX is believed to keep the baby safe if the mother takes the proper form thru pregnancy and nursing time periods,,,who really knows.

Even family pets in infected household many times are found to be infected too. So it is probably environmental in nature!!

But no, it isnt considered passable by hand contact or even kissing as far As I ever read!!

Hope this dismisses SOME of your fears,,,it isnt like mono or something like that!!

Like I say,,stick around and read, learn and ask,,its what we do best!! being--just don--
