About The Michigan Lyme Disease Association, Inc.
The MLDA is statewide non-profit 501c3 organization founded in 1989. The organization not only develops programs to promote awareness and prevention of this disease; but also educates the public and health care professionals about Lyme disease and other Tick-Borne illnesses.
The MLDA maintains statewide support groups that allow members to obtain practical information and guidance.
TickTalk, the organization's bi-monthly newsletter, also gives timely information about Lyme disease and the MLDA's activities.
With the assistance of private donations and public fundraising, the MLDA has accomplished ambitious goals since its founding.
This includes a research study tracking the distribution of Lyme disease in dogs throughout southeastern Michigan as well as the organization has hosted four fully accredited conferences on Lyme disease and other Tick-Borne illnesses as part of a public awareness campaign.
100% of the MLDA's donations are used for educational programs.
