I went to see a LLMD and he put me on Tetracycline 1500 mg per day. After 3 ducks who said despite having a rash a + westen blot and symptoms that I couln't still have lyme9 1 who was mean to me and said i prob never even had lyme! WHAT??? and 2 rounds of Dxy 14 days each......I'm feeling around 70% better in just 10 days!! All I can say is I hope it stays this way. After 3 months of constant pain...I AM FEELING BETTER!!!!

Hi Lynda: Glad to hear your treatment is succesfully progressing! I also started treatment about 3 months after being bitten. The worst of the symptoms (extreme fatigue, heart palpitations) went away within a couple of weeks of starting the abx. But there are some lingering symptoms once every few days still (I'm 7 weeks into treatment) such as chest tightness and the occasional achey leg. I heard a rule of thumb that people start feeling truly better after treatment has lasted roughly the amount of time lapsed from when symptoms began to when treatment started. However, while I do feel like I've put a dent in my borrelia with amox/doxy, the doc has yet to address my babesia (which i think is responsible for my chest tightness) - I will start meds for that a week from now - don't know how long that takes.

Doctors are pretty smart for MOST things,,but not THIS one!!! IT is truely amazing to see how "STUPID" they can be,,re: TBD's !! Just stick with your LLMD and get-er-done!!IB--just don--

It definitely is a bumpy road. I'll go from feeling good one day to very, very ill the next. It's such a weird disease. It's a roller coaster -- is the only way to explain it.
Yesterday, for example, I felt sooooo extremely ill. The worst I've felt in a long time. Today, though, I feel all right (not great, but okay) again. The disease loves to trick you, it seems. But, like I've heard, the more bad days you have, the better you become. Even though at the time of feeling so bad that's hard to understand and even to deal with.

I spoke too soon ... yesterday was a pretty bad day. My chest muscles and back muscles really hurt - it's painful to take a deep breath. I was also feeling weak/nauseus and briefly passed out when I got up out of bed in the morning. What a terrible day!

I remember when I started getting betetr the bad days were THAT much WORSE because I was so fearful I was backsliding!!! And because I quikckly got used to better quality of life- Hope it's just a bad day, Blossom, and back to doing better*)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can definitely pat yourself on the back for being able to see beyond those darn ducks. I was one that let them yank me around for five LONG years as I got worse and worse, so just that you were able to get to a doctor that would take this seriously is a HUGE STEP!!!!!!!
As others have said, it could be a long process with some ups and downs, but just to know you are on the right path is a great reason to feel great. GOOD JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!
