Does anyone here know how much the Igenex Lyme DOT-BLOT Assay and Reverse western blot is?
Also, how much is the PCR test and is blood the most accurate PCR test? or urine?
Thanks

Nick S. Harris, Ph.D and Steven J. Harris, MD 805 Lyme DOT BLOT Assay (LDA) -- 3 Samples*
The reverse western blot is only performed on positive samples.Reverse Western Blot for B. burgdorferi (Performed only on positive LDA samples. Strongly recommended as a confirmation test.
Based on our tracking, as well as input from our client physicians and our clinical consultant, the initial Panel to order for Lyme disease is the IGeneX Panel 6050. This panel includes the IFA, IgM and IgG Western Blots and PCRs for Borrelia burgdorferi. The IFA is a general Lyme disease screen. The Western Blots are to determine which antibodies the patient is making. The Western Blot is 96% specific. Since some patients do not make antibodies, the Lyme Whole Blood PCR for DNA (#463) and the Lyme Serum PCR for DNA (#453) is included.
My Dr did 3 day urine=Lyme DOT-BLOT Assay for Antigens while I was on abx's then at end of month while still on abx's did Western Blot to confirm my positives on 3 day urine antigen test I was possitive and 2 strains lyme .

I was off all meds for awhile, before I had more test done.
But I have been on antibiotics for other lyme testing.
Not sure if it makes a big difference. I have always tested a high postive for Lyme disease right from the start. Some of those test were done when I was on antibiotics. I have had at least 10 test done for it in the last 4 yrs. Even come out a high pos with our CDC.
All my test came from the western blot.
Best wishes ... good luck blazinglyme
