Hi all,

I just got home after a 5 day visit to a metal hospital.

Thursday I just lost it...angry, frusterated, mean to my family, and suicidal.

I checked myself in to an ER and then My llmd had me admitted for evaluation.

after 3 days of no everyday stresses and resting at night most of my symptoms subsided either completely or to very slight degrees.

I knew stress made my symptoms worse but I had no Idea that it was to this degree.

after the 3 days sleeping and relaxed, I stopped twitching, I could walk, my headaches went down to very low levels, the light sensitivity stopped as well as the sound sensitivity.

I wasnt even given any new or different meds.

Im feeling a bit embarrased by the whole thing, my name went out on the local scanners as my family had an apb looking for me when I left the house.

Im worried that now that Im back home Ill go back down hill.

I have some counceling set up and my pastor is working with us as a family.

On the first night home my headache had already gone back up a few notches and that was with no real stress going on.

After this post I will be taking a break from the internet for a while, I just cant seen to stay away from the activism topics, the gov-medical community enfuriates me!

Please PM me with any responses, I will check back in the the flash discussion after Im well enough to stay calm and unstressed doing this.

Thanks everyone for all you are doing here, I'll be back, hopefully soon.

BJK

So sorry about all of this, BJK.

Please do not be embarrassed - you did the right thing, going to the ER.

Remember this, please: It is not YOU that is broken; it is our politico-medical system. Your reaction to that is as it should be. And the problem can overwhelm us mentally.

Having spent 12 days in the hospital myself this summer, it is even clearer to me.

I'll be saying some prayers for you.... and please join some of us in prayers for the Lyme Community - concentrate on whatever area of this devastating disease that you believe needs attention from your ``Higher Power''....

anytime during the hour..........

9 p.m. east US (Eastern Time)

(I read your amazing story - an inspiration to us all.)

All the best,

I think you are very BRAVE.

Thank you for sharing w/ us.I hope you are feeling better.
I am sure MANY of us have been in the same situation or close to it.

Yes, this entire Lyme situation is just too much to take sometimes.

You did the right thing, taking care of you!!!!!!

Stress is BAD and really sets this stuff off.Families, friends, even our Drs. really do not understand it.

I was watching Montel the other day. There was a Mom on there w/ Lupus. He explained to the family about this exact situation.Stress=Symptoms for us.

I really suggest reading....TRUE LOVE A Practice for Awakening the Heart,by Thich Nhat Hanh.

Along w/ prayer, this book helps to heal.It is a lovely book and worth the read.I keep it beside my bed so I can read it over and over.It is easy to open, pick any selection and is very soothing.

Hang in there.Thank you for sharing and bringing the difficulties w/ Lyme out in the OPEN.

Alright there Mr.......there will be plenty of time for Activism when you get better. Until then take care of YOU.

Since less stress seems to help, I hope you'll take action to make stress dissapear from your life if possible. I hear you with the five kids, but I hope you will work on it.

Such courage and maturity we see in you and your family.

you know, it is true (as someone said above) that you should not be embarrassed as you are fighting a mighty system that should have been better designed.

Rather than a psych ward we should have healing centers in every town. Nurturing, warm places of calm with healthful foods and healing activities - or just places of rest.

the adrenals are problably more to "blame" than the brain in all of this - and good that your LLMD sees that it's all part of lyme as it affects you.

I read years ago that if you put enough toxins in anyone they can go what others might call "bonkers, etc. "

hey, i just suggested Mozart to someone else. it might help.

does magnesium and the B-vitamin family help you?
Cat's claw tincture (regular from Herb Pharm) really helps settle my nerves a bit as does skullcap tincture.

Stay stable. Take care of yourself.

I'm glad you did this and got some relief. Part of our recovery involves HOW to handle being chronically ill.

You're on your way to being better able to cope!! [group hug]
