If fall brings flare-ups that would explain a lot about my personal state ...
I did great last summer when I was briefly on Cipro ... so we're starting bart treatment .... one month into it and it's brutal.
It's discouraging not feeling as good as I did a couple months ago.
I hope you get to the end of that sinus infection ... must be a bad one.

I'm here and I feel like poop, thanks.
Sorry 'bout the sinus infection.
Have a bowl of linguini with garlic & oil (use a whole bulb) and chase it with some chicken soup.
Follow with extra Vitamin-C and orange juice. (Maybe some Xango too )
Then drink some nice warm chammomile tea through a straw.
Chew plenty of sugar-free gum (helps drainage) and take a nice hot steamy shower.
Then put some Vicks Vap-o-rub on your chest and snuggle up under some blankets.
Be sure to get plenty of extra rest!
Last, but not least, FEEL BETTER!!

Drowning in rain,,,broke the all time record for the month of October,,,previous record was in 1887 if that says anything. (and month is only half gone YET)
Had close to 4" in last 3 days and they keep saying tommorrow, then maybe two days from now, then---
This low just lingers and lingers and doesnt move,,,never saw puddles this big,,,more like lakes instead.
Got stuck where I never ever had today,,,had to walk home a half mile (in the rain)
take a big horse to pull myself out,,,then take that back home and walk back in the rain!! (quack quack!!) What you dont go thru,,,living and working all by your lonesome!!
Went to big town and did my bi-monthly grocery shopping today and picked up my tires that were waiting for me for months!! 6 of them and they only weighed about 100# a piece!! Tough lift for a OLD man!!
Course then again,,,who cares?? Rain rain go away!! Come again NEXT year when it CAN be used,,,like in July and August!!all wet and --just don--

Good post Lyme Too
My day started out poorly as it does at times.
But, it picked up after 3 pm.
I was able to bake some chicken and steam some fresh aparagus.
I also was able to go out on a trail for 20 min on foot.
My kitchen is clean again as a person came and cleaned it for me today.
I just feel so much better when things are clean.
I had really made a mess of it over the weekend.
I had tried to make some coffee and burned it and had coffee splattered all over the stove.
I cleaned that up.
Then, I had tried to heat up some chili and burned it and had chili splattered all over the stove.
I was done in by then and not able to clean it up.
Only had a couple of teaspoons that was OK to eat of the chili.
Then, I caught the kitchen towel on fire.
I decided I best get out of the kitchen and stay out.
I really do need to work in renters insurance somehow.
Fading fast now.
Ah yes. I was able to get a summary off to my LLMD...faxed it.
Felt pretty sick while at the printers so cut things short and came home. I was in my power chair at that point.
A guy tried to talk to me at the dog park this am and I had to cut him off and head home.
I still have trouble taking things in at times.
He was trying to tell me about a friend who is in a nursing home with a stroke.
We have it much better than some and worse than others.
At least we have hope.

tutu and all,
i'm just getting on the board today! i agree with the rest of you.
my badly sprained wrist of 2 falls is throbbing like the dickens! wearing my splint all the time except when it's soaking wet inside; to dry off.
spent 2 hrs. at clinic, etc. today. my final incontinence session of talking only.
practice kegels 3, 10 seconds wait; repeat built up to 5, 10 ........... finally up to 10, 10 .............
i asked her for her recommendation to APPROVE a AIR-LIFT CHAIR FOR ME since the medicare form directly asks if patient had PT and meds to help them.
she will NOT approve; she didn't observe me having any problems getting out of THEIR chairs! i'm going to buy it anyways; i need it in spite of what THEY say!
her solutions: double up a blanket and put under chair cushion. buy extra cushion to put on top of other cshion.
went to ER, and had them make a copy of NOT ACCURATE dictation of how i fell in that hospital when my sandle stuck to the floor. that was an interesting story he told. ER WAS FULL; so left aper asking that he initial/date it, and send me a copy for my records.
made a diabetes dietician appt. went for 6-9 months when i was diagnosed 3 years ago bt the dietician thought she knew it all, and would NOT LEARN ABOUT CHRONIC LYME DISEASE, EXERCISE, etc! so i stopped going. didn't need that stress too.
hubby last thursday found out he can't pass his eye exam to renew his dirver's license! he has 2 bad catarachts. the both need to come out in order for him to see better to drive. schedule oct. 25 in am.
so took paperwork into that eye office. had them copy dictation of my latest eye exam, and left for specialist! this one said i did NOT HAVE EARLY DIABETES RETINOPATHY!
dr. called me later; 1st dictation got lost in system, so she dictated from memory! when i left this one, they got my file over there and CORRECT VERSION WAS IN MY 3" FILE there. she will copy it and send to me.
friday, my new pcp's RN called, saying my thurs. ct scan of my sinusis showed "obstruction in right nostrel". they want me to see ENT dr.. too.
i've had 2 nose septoplastyiees for deviated septm that gave me long-lasting nosebleeds for years. i don't want to go thr that again!!
so i'll make that appt. after hubb's 1st cataracht surgery followed up by 2nd in 2 wks. later! he doesn't want surgery at all; but not wanting to give up driving either!
had a mole cut off last week; get the 1 stitch removed tomorrow and results of biopsy...good news i hope. my plate is full right now thank you.
i've probably had 10 appts. this past 3 weeks!
thanks for asking tutu; good luck tomorrow on your sinus situation.

As we didn't even get a chance to present our case.

Well I feel crappy. I am in so much pain the last few days.
It is like burning muscle pain and like I fell 1000 times on my behind and hips iceskating.
Vicodin not helping too much! I was thinking about see PCP but you know how that can go.
My Lymphnodes are up and burning. My temp is up to 102 (it usually lingers around 100.5)
My fatigue is pretty bad too. I swear I would sleep 24 hours a day if I could.
I hope you all feel better soon!

Well, Sunday the 14th I took a nose dive back to bed, one of my "I think I'm really going to die this time" days. Head issues that immobilize me.
All you can do is sleep and wake up to pain. I'm a certified crash dummy.
Monday was marginaly better-at least I was upright and somewhat functional. But day ended with an IV adventure when the cap came off the end of my picc line extension.
Long story-added to my IV A Cautionary Tale thread.
Feeling better today, in fact I have much to do to make up for the Lost Weekend.
The single most important thing I hold onto when walking through the valley of the shadow of death is "this too shall pass"- one way or the other-right?!!!
I only have three medical appointmets lined up for this week. Besides visits from Nurses.
Take Care, Carol
Actually the nose dive could have been due to the unexpected "procedure" I had done Friday for "mesh errosion".
(minor surgery-with anesthesia and cutting-by a doctor who jokes about LYMES and LIMBS DISEASE and when I correct him says to nurse she has LEMONLYME DISEASE and then grins like a ten year old who's just told a really funny joke.
He doesn't have a clue. Wanted to kick him in the head, but he already had me by the speculum.

Kam....be careful in that kitchen, OK!? I used to have days where all I would do is drop things and/or burn myself. I'm pretty good at not burning food, but I have caught myself leaving the burner on after dinner....duh!
don....mud,.. oh great! If it were warmer out there you could walk in the mud barefoot and let the mud squish between your toes!
At my aunt's farm we would walk in the fields barefooted when it would rain. The black "gumbo" soil would stick to our feet until we could barely lift them! That was fun!
betty....your life is way too adventurous for me!! Never a dull moment at your place!! Hope things improve soon!!
Geneal...I finally found your court report! I think you'll get something accomplished soon! I'll keep praying!
Merry....Still running those fevers!? YUCKO! Are you treating babs yet?? I hope you feel better VERY SOON!! [You're faking those fevers, aren't you!?? psychosomatic stuff?? all in your head???]
CAlif... Sounds like good sleeping weather where you are! Kinda foggy and dreary here too. I feel a nap coming on!
Cobby....I'm very glad for your sake that you didn't kick the duck in the head! I think he was "one up" on you!! Hope you feel better soon!!!!
I saw the ENT today. He sprayed about a hundred things into my sinuses. Wants a CT sinus scan this Thursday. Probably will come back with nothing on it....no brain, no nothing!

How is everyone today? Well that weirdo pain That had crippled me for a few days is GONE!?
So strange. I still have my psycosamatic fevers HAhaha! Se my LLMD on 11/4.
Yesterday when I was trying to take my afternoon nap I swear I either fained or was about to have a seizure.
I was just trying to fall asleep and it was like my eyes rolled back into my head and I felt like I was falling.
I remember saying to myself oh no! Then I woke up 2 1/2 hours later. So weird.
At least that terrible new pain is gone and replaced with the usual Lymie pain....
I was thinking about getting a membership to the YMCA so I could float around the pool and use the hot tub.
For a family membership it is like $90 a month plus $150 sign up fee! I thought it was expensive.
They do have a financial assistance application so I may try that. It is just hard for me to drop that kind of money when I haven't been working.
I know it would help me a lot though...
Hope everyone has a good day!

Update, we are WAY past mud,,,have to get down thru the lakes to get to mud.
Last weekend they forcast 1-2",,,we got 4.5"
Guess what, that low finnally moved off,,,
ONLY to be replaced with another today. I always 'thought' lows were interspersed with highs and sunny days,,,never happened here.
Guess what it is doing right now?? Raining of course. They forcast another 1-2" in next couple days of this one,,,they ALWAYS last longer than they say!!
IF we get another 3-4 inches we are in BIG trouble. So law of averages if we were supposed to get 2" and end up with 4.5" will we get 1/2 this time to 'average' out??
OR will a pattern stay a pattern and be another 4-5"?? Creeks are full already and overflowing. Good time for canoeing but sorta cold!!
As to Maddogs dumb neighbor,,,me thinks he needs one of those 6' solid plastic pretty fence between them,,,,good fences make good neighbors. Maddog,,,maybe the neighbor would go with HALF the cost of same and put it right down the line!!
IF he has a dog,,,they are always wanting a fence for them!! keeps dogs, dust, dirt and fires on THEIR side!!Bounces noise off pretty good too!! Even IF you have to pay for it,,just DO it!! happiness is hard to quanify!!
Those are PRETTY fences to boot!!Solid bottom,,, lattice top!! lasts forever!!(no rot)for sure--just don--

Well, I *completely* jinxed myself with that insanely positive post the other day lol.
I woke up yesterday from an unintentional nap completely confused, achy, headache from pressure, eyes foggy, fingers swollen... complete herx.
I have BAD leg cramps and I'm wondering if Lyrica does that. Hmmm. My arms are a little better (from neuropothy), but my hands are in agony with zinging stinging shooting um... zings. Don't make me think. lol
And I have to go get my poor little herxing five year old from school. (Lucky I remembered it's a half-day. Ugh.
Lyme has manifested in strange neuro-y ways in him. He wasn't potty trained (dx autism) until five days after we started abx for LD. Go figure. Now whenever he herxes we know b/c we hear "my throat hurts" and he frequently doesn't quite make it to the bathroom in time.
I thought it was bad when I was herxing, but both of us at the same time? Now that's bad.
But I'll get through it - I'll brew some detox tea, drink some lemon juice, take a few baths, etc. And my little guy will get through it too (darn Flagyl to the depths of Hades!!!).
A few gentle hugs might be nice!
So that's why I'm not on much, or if I am I'm lurking, or jinxing myself (darn it all) into a herx! My granddad used to write B+ everywhere to remind himself to BE POSITIVE. B+ B+ B+ B+ B+
Okay, Granddad, I'm trying!

Geneal - hope you can get things settled soon. It is hard enough to be sick and have to fight the whole ``being sick'' battle.
The universe is not being kind making you fight another one with court appearances and probably paperwork ...bad universe.
Kam - don't feel bad I have caught something on fire in the microwave and the toaster as well as the stove.
Bettyg - Two falls. Your poor wrist. I know what it is like.
In june I fell down the steps and tore stuff in my shoulde. About 2 weeks later I fell up the steps and reinjured my shoulder which was still pretty injured.
Leave it to me to fall up.... I didn't even know that was a possibility. Next june I am spending in bubble wrap.
Michelle M - Cool photos. I really like them. The compositions are all well chosen and they each capture a moment. Its not always easy to actually capture the breath of a moment.
Cave - I hope your heart tests come out ok. Did you have your thyroid checked. From what I understand (which isn't much anymore) thyroid being off can cause palpatations.
Me.... Well lately,
Pain in my joints, muscles, head, chest, bottom of my feet
Lightheaded, dizzy
Fatigue- exhausted always
Balance issues, weakness
Shortness of breath
Pressure in chest
Tremors
That's the most annoying of it anyway. Oh and quite often I get that feeling that the majority of the cells in my body are dying.
Lyme sux. Babs sux. Herxes sux. Hopefully it will let up soon. Hopefully it is just a herx. Hopefully ...hopefully...hopefully.

Sarah....I do imagine managing your son's herxes on top of your own is quite challenging!!! Just think of all the progress your little one will go through during the next year!!

Decided to remove another toxic person from my life because the stress can't be good. But the stress of following through with that decision is hard.
Some toxic people can see you as a free waste dump site, and don't want to let you go. I have to remember that in the long run it's not easier to just give in and let them dump. I didn't have the energy to say no until now.
I'm getting back to normal. Normal for me that is. Everything hurts and I'm tired all the time, but that's all.
I can pretty much do what I want to these days. Quite a feat after several years of not knowing which end was up, after hobbling out of bed into my next panic attack, waiting for night so I could go to bed, then praying for morning so I could get up.
I'm both encouraged and sad about where I'm at. Quite a trip this lyme life.
Nice to see you all today.

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is having a good day.
I am not feeling well. I think I jinxed myself last week telling everyone I am making improvement and functioning at 50%.
I have never had a herx this long so I am wondering what the heck is going on.
I slept 12 hours last night. When I woke up I was counting the minutes until my DS would take a nap. I slept for 3 and a half hors this afternoon.
I plan to go back to sleep when hubby gets home.
My fever is up and the bad sweats are back. I am nauseous and the thing that worries me the most is that the brain fog is back. It is not severe, but I haven't had much of this in a few months.
How can you tell the difference between a long herx and a setback??
I haven't felt this bad in a few months.
Oh well. I know Lyme is a rocky road but geez.
Anyway! I hope everyone is good.
I hope I can stay awake for ER and the Office tonight, oh yeah the Redsox are on too....

I have done 5 months of zith/mepron/art and did not make any progress. Then did the Alinia and felt better after but still having babs sx. Then tried Clindamycin/Qualaquin and could not tolerate the side effects of Qualaquin so stopped that after 2 days.
I have been at this for 9 months, abx that is. The worst experience of my life. THere is nothing worse than to NOT have your health. I'm preaching to the choir here.
Hoping all the best for everyone. Just wanting this part of my life to pass.

Good analogy, Jeff! I hope you find the key to the disease SOON!!
Betty, I haven't heard from my doctor yet. I only know from the tech that I have a problem.
Charlie, thanks for the info on the avelox. Guess I'll cross it completely off my list!
Doomer, hang in there! Better days are ahead!
to all

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is feeling ok tonight.
I am the same except I saw my GI doc today who basically said that he has no answers as to why I am having GI issues!
So annoying. I am making some awareness ribbons and hope to raise a few bucks for my support group. I am selling the decent size ribbons for $1 or $2.
I am just going to sell them to friends and family. It will help pay for supplies (paper, ink, folders, snacks) I hate asking people for money, but I havent worked in 6 months and I need to be wise with money..
The support group is important to me so no matter what we will have what we need, but maybe it will help!
I am also making some ribbons for Lymies to wear at the hearing in MA in November.
Still have a fever and sweats. My right middle finger is completely numb. No idea why.
Maybe I have been "waving" it at too many people!
I think I slept about 18 hours. I know it is important but it feels like a waste of time.
The last few days I have woken up I really felt like I was going to die. I am still here!
Hopefully tomorrow is a better day foe all of us.
I am still waiting for an article about my story and the support group to be in the local paper.
Sorry to scare everyone, but I started Christmas shopping or my kids.
I bought my daughter this talking Mccaw she saw on TV. That is her big gift and another little thing.
I bought my son a fire truck. I usually dont start until December but now that I am sooo sick, I can't imagine fighting over toys at the store!
I will be doing most if not all of my shopping online.
lymetoo- Thanks for rooting for the Sox! They won!
Hopefully they will win tomorrow.
I am watching the dog whisperer and I love him!!!
I was kinda bummed out today. My family was going out to dinner for my neices 21st birthday.
I wasn't going to go b/c I felt so badly. It was important to my hubby so I went for about 45 min.
But I was sad because everyone was going out after for drinks etc.
I feel really left out. I used to have all kinds of fun. I don't remember the last time I had real fun.
I really just want my health and my life back. It amazes me that a tick has screwed up so much of my life.
Anyway-
Sorry for my crazy all over the place rant!
