Words, specifically using "extra" ones bug me.
Our local weather person says every morning what the temperature is "at the current time." Why not just say NOW?
Don't know why but it also bugs when people say "whole entire", like "I have lived my whole entire life in New England." Aren't "whole" and "entire" the same thing?
Stupid, I know.

...people saying 'at this point in time' has always bugged me too, and I think I may have heard of Edwin Newman but never read after him nor would I even recognize the name,in actuality.
we have too many wordy trite-isms, and so many instances of people just making up or misusing words and phrases that it just plethoras me out....

I can't abide people saying "is is" Example (with some additional peeves):
The problem is is that people get in like very very very bad you know talking habits.
"I could care less." That's the opposite of what is really intended "I couldn't care less."
Also when people mean (I think) buck naked, and instead say "butt naked!")
I have heard of Edwin Newman, but not read that book.

Dont you just hate it when all the talking heads say "We will break this all down for YOU".(like your 6 months old again!!)
Then go on and just babble most of commonly known stuff anyway,,,what did they break??
Or the other favorite buzz word these days "multitasking". Obviously somebody who has NEVER been a parent!!
I adamantly wont listen to those sports talk shows,,,they know EVERYTHING,or 'think' they do. What a bunch of stuck on ME, stuffed heads!! They need a REAL job!!like --just don--

Today's pet peeve is/are stores that have overwhelming fragrances as you walk in the door. Entering and checking out is torture. (Yes, I was possessed and went into a Bed, Bath and Beyond. ) I'm still choking and my hair and clothes are saturated by the flowery stench.
*scurries off to change clothes and bury these in the yard*
Edwin Newman was on TV daily when I was a kid. I think he was doing short segments between shows, if I recall correctly. I haven't read that book though.

Irregardless! I hate it when I hear someone say that.
Also, those people who get in the "less than 20 item" check-out line at the grocery store and have 150 items in their cart...you know who you are!
Whew! Venting is great.

What bugs me?
People who need to talk on their cell phones in stores, in cars, when they are with you!!!
People who never say,"Excuse me" when reaching for something in front of you or worse....when they bump into you...especially because they are talking on cell phones and not paying attention to where they are going!
RUDENESS!

"A whole nuther..."
I've even heard this by well educated people on radio news programs.
And this too:
When people stand in doorways leaning on the door jamb, and don't seem to notice you are trying to get through, so you have to stop and say excuse me, and they take their sweet time shifting over.
Then when you have to go back out the door they are still there and you have to ask and wait again.
It makes me crazy enough that I want to make a scene over it, but boy would I look stupid.
And:
When people honk at me for driving too slow. Sometimes it just takes me a little bit longer to read the road signs and make sure I'm going the right way.
I once saw a car with a big sticker that said, "You hurry up, I'm on time." I wanted one of those.
Funny little game I'm playing. I can get in other people's way, but don't like it when they get in mine.

the word "busted" instead of broke drives me nuts, as does saying 'bucks" instead of dollars.
like fingernails on a blackboard.
and yes, for sure, people on the road and in stores and everywhere else who assume their time and business is more important than anyone else's - hence being cut off the road and subjected to someone else's cell phone chit chat- whatever.

Well sizzled took mine lol, Where r manners today?
I also agree with the cell phones.. what did they do when we didn't have them?? Go home and talk on the phone! Who cares who u r talking to.
Rude drivers that tell u that u r #1 with their finger when it's them being rude to u.
But this is a favorite one.. U don't look sick, nothing wrong with u, all in your head, or u r just being lazy! grrr
Know alot of us can relate to that one!
Best wishes to all

I don't care for people that stare at you and don't have the sense to look away when you see them. I usually stick out my tounge.
about the people talking on cell phones (ones not with me) in restaurants and stores...
I make it perfectly clear I am listening to their conversation. I think I'll start participating in their conversations. Seems fair game.
Have I ever answered a cell call inside somewhere... um... yes... if it was something important but take them outside.
