Hi folks,
Here's some hotel information for those attending Dr. Jones' hearing on December 18th and want to stay over in Hartford.

These rooms have not been reserved because we don't know how many are coming. But I did try to get the lowest rate for us. Please
call the hotel to make your own reservation.

1) DAY'S INN, EAST HARTFORD, 333 Roberts Street, East Hartford, CT - (860) 289-4950

When you call, tell them you are with the Lyme disease group. They will give you a discouted rate of $59 a night plus tax for a double room with double beds.

They are expecting us for both or either December 17th and December 18th, so specifiy what you want. If more than 10 rooms are filled by the Lyme group, the manager said he would consider lowering the rate on all rooms.

COMMENTS: A number of us stayed at the Day's Inn in East Hartford at previous hearings and, with few exceptions, found it comfortable enough. (For those who went to Margarita's Mexican restaurant last time, it's the hotel directly across the street.) It's about a 15 minute taxi ride to the Legislative Office Building from the hotel. .

2) HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS DOWNTOWN, 440 Asylum St, Hartford, CT - (860) 246-9900

The rate is 149 plus tax per night if booked directly with the hotel, but if you have AARP or AAA discount it will be $136. Travelocity. com and probably other online sites will give the room for $136. The Holiday Inns don't offer any group discount. Parking is $12 extra a day.

COMMENT: This hotel is close to the Legislative Office Building and close to the railroad and bus station.

3) CROWNE PLAZA HOTEL, 50 MORGAN ST. HARTFORD, CT 06120
Hotel Front Desk: 1-860-5492400

This is relatively close to the LOB. Double room is $110 a night If you are planning to stay for two nights and can charge this on a Master Card, book this on travelocity. com which gives a $50 rebate for stays of two nights or more. I am waitng to hear from the group sales department as to whether they can do any better for us.

Hope to see you all at Dr. Jones' hearing on the 18th.
Ellen

Any places in Hartford that stay open all night? Diners? etc? for those with tiny purses?
