my stepmother just called from my father's bedside.

he is very very close to death- he perhaps has another day to live, and maybe not that.

she was kind enough to hold the phone up to his ear so that i could tell him goodbye.

i would very much appreciate prayers for him now, that he is able to let go as peacefully as possible.

thank you so much-

dilly

Lord, we ask that you place special blessings on dilly's father and everyone in his family.

Comfort those who love him and cherish him. Send strength and love to them all.

We pray that this time will go quickly and that he will glide peacefully into Your loving arms.

In Jesus' name we pray.

Dear Dilly,

Father, I ask that your Angels wrap Dilly's father in their loving arms,

And gently guide him to your loving side.

I ask that you also send Angels to comfort and give his family strength during

This time of seperation. Amen.

Love,

Geneal

Dilly -- You, your dad and your family have been in my prayers for weeks. I have been through this myself, and I know what it feels like.

I pray that you are able to accept, when you are ready. I pray that you allow the tears to come. I pray that you can be strong, when you feel that you must be. I pray that you can accept the love from those that care about you.

We all grieve in our own way. I pray that God guides you as you find your way. I pray for the highest and best for all of you.

Dilly -- sorry to read this. I hope his passing is gentle, and that you have the support you need through this time. It was so kind of you to think of Dr Jones when you were going through your own situation.

dilly, you have received many wonderful and eloquent prayers from your lymenet friends here. they have each been beautifully written from the heart to you/family.

my prayers go out to you/family during this holiday season as well.

our lymenet member, carol ann, who has helped gary norbut, with his esophagus surgery ... her husband died this morning too!

it was nice your stepmom clled you to give your dad your farewell until you see him again someday in heaven! [group hug] [kiss]

you got wrapped up in dr. jones' cause to keep your mind off what was also happening with your dad; i did that also with my parents, sister, and siste-in-law. it helps helping others during their pain and suffering.

DILY, WE ARE HERE FOR YOU anytime! join us when you feel up to it.

i sent you my sympathy poems earlier, but a reminder of these 1st three there:

my first Christmas in heaven;'

when tomorow starts without me;

I'M FREE AT LAST! [group hug] [kiss]

My father died a few hours after i said goodbye to him yesterday.

Thank you so much for your prayers. I am sure they made a difference to him, and it means a great deal to me to know he went with people he had never even known wishing him peace.

thanks again- dilly [group hug]

Oh Dilly,

I'm so very sorry. I'm glad you were able to say "goodbye" to your dad, but I know that doesn't make any of this any easier.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

Dilly, you and hour dad have been in my thoughts a lot recently.

I am glad to hear you had a chance to tell him good bye, even if it was only on the phone. I do hope that is helpful for closure for you.

May God hold you tightly in his loving arms as you grieve the loss of your father. Hold tight to the happy memories you were able to create with him in his latter years.

Blessings,

[group hug]

Dear Tutu and Sarah and Melissa,
and Geneal and Lou and MushroomMan,
and Robin and Andie and Betty,
and Melanie (thank you)
and Cathy and Ella,
and DLL (sorry the JennyFlyer plans fell through),
and Feelfit and Heather and Monica,
and Lymednva with so much sorrow of your own,
and Azure and Pam and Christina-

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being here and for caring.

My father was ready to go, and thank God, he went without ever feeling any pain, not even a headache,in all of the at least one year he had his brain tumor. How merciful.

I feel very sad and imagine I will for some time. But I also have the great grace of feeling that I left nothing unsaid or unresolved, that I forgave him anything and everything and he knew that when he still could, and that I did everything I possibly could for him in these last few months, even at the great distance he insisted upon imposing.

And a special thank you to those who gave me the good advice to do all those things, even when I felt so ambivalent this summer.

love, dilly

Julie, good post on keeping them around you with pix etc. I had a 42 yr old brother-in-law/dear friend who cancer took from us and I keep him around me in many ways. These things are all comforting to my husband and me.

He loved lighthouses. Collected them. When my husband and I moved to a condo 6 yrs ago, I asked my husband if he was okay with decorating his bathroom with the lighthouse theme.

I put a lighthouse Christmas tree ornament in hubbies stocking this year. Tried decorating his brothers grave site with lighthouses etc and somebody keeps taking or destroying stuff. They don't seem to bother the Christmas decor???? Must be a Grinch or Scrooge.

Dilly,

I am so sorry.

I know from Lyme chat that this has been quite an ordeal for you.

The good thing here is that you got to say your part and left nothing unresolved.

You and your family are in my prayers.

Thanks for the support and warm thoughts, Tracy and LymeLady and Pam and Mystery Girl and Julie and Acorn:

This has been a really difficult Christmas for sure. If not for our 5 year old DS, we wouldn't have bought a tree, even, much less done anything else to celebrate.

Because of our son, though, Christmas magic came for awhile anyway, and because I am fortunate enough to have a very loving husband and wonderful friends both here and in the "real" world, I have not felt alone or unsupported for a minute in these months of my father dying.

All in all, even when sad, I am feeling blessed more than anything else.

Love really is everything.

Thanks again, good people.... [group hug]
