for SSDI, i went thru mental testing.
you are asked a bunch of questions. DO NOT READ UP ON ANYTHING, let things just take place so they get honest reactions on how you do mentally! math, etc.
I WILL TELL YOU THIS THOUGH! because this may be for SS DISABILITY INSURANCE BENEFITS, SSDI, if you are in pain from sitting,
GET UP OFTEN TO STRETCH, GO TO BATHROOM IF NEEDED, I DRANK FROM MY HUGE WATER JUG CONSTANTLY.
they will record every action, question, and everything you say!!!!*************************************
In my case, i needed them to close shades, ALL LIGHTS OFF, and nothing GLARING at me.
i do hope you do not have to take MMPI, MINNESOTA MULTI-PERSONALITY index ?? 365 T/F questions, and you can answer either way because they put
AND, OR, BUT, IF into every question! their results were totally off on MMPI !!
remember, this mental test WILL HELP SHOW WHAT IS PHYSCIALLY/MENTALLY wrong with WHY YOU CAN NO LONGER WORK!! '*************
mental issues are in APPROVED ADULT LIST OF IMPAIRMENTS, lyme 14.08 is shown, but they give no examples at all. so it's easier for them to approve you for a MENTAL PROBLEM and not lyme, fibro, cfs, etc. They have more ley way in doing that.
be sure to read my newbie package; last 25 pages deal with SSDI benefits.
how far are you in steps?
been turned down 1st step locally,
on reconsideration,
or getting ready for ADMIN LAW JUDGE HEARING stage where this mental testing is very important! good luck.

Here's my advice. The first thing my SSDI attorney did was send me for neuropsych testing.
You should be able to get the name of a good one four our problems through a support group, or an attorney, if you have one.
I was awarded my SSDI on the spot at the ALJ hearing and it was from those tests.
I've had the testing Bettyg described and it is worthless for what is wrong with us. You will probably need your own testing to counter their results.
Good luck!

Thanks Betty- I called my attorney and left a message-apparently they didn't even get this letter. I just wonder what they "go by"-- I filled out stuff for SSDI about 8 months ago- (you know-all the symptoms stuff) and that's when I was REALLY mental= a lot of it had to do with still being really lymie and from being on 60mg of Prednisone for my bleeding disorder--I was really depressed and practically suicidal almost--it was bad. I do feel better now-except of course still chronic pain, insomnia, dizziness and the fatigue..and of course when I feel really bad, it intensifies confusion, etc..I guess I just answer on how I feel mostly now as opposed to before, though, right? Yes- thanks - I always read through all the information on disability you provide Natalie
