Have you ever heard of "Care Credit"?

Dr. J's office is having the finance office contact me about setting up a Care Credit account before they place my picc line in.

What is it, and do I have to place money in it first, because if thats the case, couldn't I just pay out of pocket or with my credit card?

or

is it kind of like a credit card medical proceedures and I'll be sent a bill, like my credit card statements?

any input is appreciated.

I'm supposing the doctor is trying to help you find a way to finance the treatment. I'm sure if you have other ways of financing it that won't be a problem.

Buyer beware.

I just looked into this too...same reason.

It's a credit card with a 29% APR!

I'm running from that.

You don't want to lose your good credit or your home if you can't make the payments.

I did Care Credit with a dentist last year. My terms were 0% apr for one year unless you miss a payment than watch out. You'll need to find out the terms with them directly.

I don't know about this company, but some credit card companies can change their interest fee structure at any time, without prior notification.

I had to use it to finance my crown [and my husband's crown]. It is 0% as snowboarder said, but if you miss a payment or don't pay it off in one year [or whatever term you have it for]..

Then you have to pay the high interest.
