Jay:
i was trying to copy your whole post here, but it poofed when I deleted the thread it was in- sorry, because it was a great post and accurate in every respect.
You're right- Lymenet is a tremendous source of support and information. Not to worry- there are many here who care about keeping it that way and who spend a great deal of time and effort working to make sure it does.
be well- dilly

Thank you bettyg but this isn't the post referred to by dilly
That post was made today, 3/20/08 at around 0700
I am usually only good for posting about once a week as it is difficult to organize my words and thoughts into sentences and paragraphs like I used to do pre-lyme
I am gonna try again
I did thank all of you lymenetters for your help and encouragement while my DW Sheila is treating her chronic lyme and co
I had posted two, maybe two and a half months back about her and her new dx of lyme
She had been "mis"treated for MS with interferon IM, and frequent IV dosing of steroids for relapses for more than 4 years before being dx'ed with lyme and co
Due to the heavy dosages of immunosuppressants our LLMD got her started on a month of cyst-busting flagyls
A lot of herxing during this time, but we were able to turn to LymeNet for support and encouragement during these rough days
Next came the PICC and the IV abx and the home nurse and the wrong type of meds delivered and the wrong dosage being used and then the right meds being sent and the right dosage and actual improvement and renewed spirit in our patient
These days DW has quit "going" to work and does her job at home. I drive to her office and pick up and drop off work once or twice a week
Her company is very accomodating and is actually happy that she isn't taking FMLA and not working at all (I may urge her more onto this path as resting is so valuable to recovery..we'll see)
DW is herxing, with the lead-apron fatigue being the worst of the symptoms
We are excited about the progress she is making and thank those of you here that have encouraged and supported us
We originally posted under the name Jay& Sheila but changed our name and deleted posts that were maybe too revealing about us personally
We got a lot of good feedback and encouragement and advice here
Newbie packages were invaluable
Our goal is to get Sheila back to relative health as this lyme hit her harder than me except for when it ate my mitral valve and they sawed my chest open
Lyme dx back then would hav prevented that mess, but you all know how that goes.....
We treat my lyme symptom by symptom and hope the critters take long breaks
This thing has her legally handicapped in our state and barely ambulatory, walking with the aid of a cane and needs a wheelchair (motorized hopefully) to go to any mall, store, airport etc. requiring more than a hundred feet max.
Things are looking rosier though and we are looking to getting weller with all of you
I just read your post... I am so sorry that you and your wife are going through all of this.....
I know how that lead apron feels........I hope your wife gets some releif and that there are better days ahead for both of you......
