I am in the second process of trying to get

social security and I received a letter the

other day telling me that I needed to take an IQ

test to see how disabled I was. They only put

my diagnosis to consider me disabled was being

bipolar and memory. They decided to knock the

lyme..bartonella..ebv..and many more off. So

how does a IQ test show me being bipolar? Does

anyone have any advice on this or with my

appointment coming up? Thank you all for the

help.

howdy jm!

you bet i do! when don't i? been there; done that!

1st, do you have a copy of my newbie package where the last 24-30 pages are devoted to SSDI process!

also, since you posted in support, go to top to MINOUCAT'S post on disability, etc. she has ALL our combined experience/expertise compiled into her link.

bottom line, i hope you don't have to do the MINN .... can't remember the whole name; 3 hrs. of 375 Q/A tht tricks you up adding these words:

and, or, but, if, etc so you could decide either way.

they can't determine what illness you have, but they can tell if you show COGNITIVE weaknesses!

in my case, i had them close the shades, TURN OFF THE LIGHTS, no glare/reflections, etc. AND told them ahead of time to not wear perfumes/hair spray, etc.

you need to go to the bathroom, get up and go telling them as you walk out the door.

you can't sit long; get up and walk or stand against the walls, etc.

just don't pretend you are comfortable there in that work setting when you aren't.

they write down everything you say on certain tests; all their observations of you, etc.

many require these tests be done in ONE session vs. 2 separate days of tests.

now go and read more details in minoucats info.

best wishes, and just be yourself! later make sure you get a copy of their typed notes submitted to DDS.

REVIEW YOUR FILE before any hearing; do you have a lawyer? use their official notes AGAINST them by disputing what they have said about this or that thru your primary care dr's medical detailed records!!

wishing you the end of this process!!! [group hug] [kiss]
