suggestion!
People seeking doctors in certain states might be able to get help from their state online information and support group. Over 1500 people belong to these state groups. Many of the groups are small but quite a few have 20 or more people on them.
Type your state name and lyme as one word, e.g. newyorklyme
For SC, SD, ND and WY, put a hyphen between the statename and lyme, e.g. northdakota-lyme
The groups are moderated so you have to apply, and we don't allow doctor names, but once on the group, you can ask for doctors in a certain area and ask people to email you privately.

did you sign up at free DISINISSUES, disability insurance issues, site that is in my last 25 pages of my newbie package? web site is there; there are 2-3 ERISA lawyers who reply there!

I agree with betty, join the disinissues website, it is very helpful.
What stage are you in right now with your claim? Appeal stage? Have you been denied?
There are only a few 'top notch' ERISA attorneys in the country.

thank you bettyg and all for your suggestions. the more i research ERISA i see that it protects only the employer and insurer and not the employee. it is a terrible law and chances of winning an ERISA suit are low. i cant just give up so i will pursue this avenue. wish me luck!

I'm going to e-mail you the name of my ERISA attorney who is EXTREMELY FAMILIAR WITH LYME DISEASE and, in my opinion (I'm a lawyer as well) did an outstanding job of handling my ERISA case. DON'T FILE ANYTHING UNTIL YOU SPEAK WITH AN ERISA ATTORNEY AS YOU MAY INADVERTENTLY WAIVE SOME OF YOUR RIGHTS...As you may be aware, the evidence process for ERISA cases is much different than for non-ERISA cases. Only that which is filed in the record may be reviewed by the judge...SO, you must be very careful about what you place in the record....Yes, the ERISA law stinks in that it strongly favors the insurance company....You basically must show that the insurance company's decision to deny your benefits was "arbitrary and capricious"....This is a very difficult standard for most lyme patients (and even non-lyme patients to meet) especially if your record is full of many medical records from doctors saying you have CFS...West Nile Virus...whatever else you many have been misdiagnosed with...That's why it's imperative to get a highly-recommended ERISA lawyer who understands what he/she is doing...I won a very favorable settlement against one of the worst disability carriers out there... Insurance companies are disgusting and they are going to make you think you don't have a chance in hell of a favorable outcome...Don't give in...
