Another year of being sick has just gone by. I don't feel much like celebrating. I'm 54 today and I've been sick since I was 30.
I'm taking a break from abx after taking them for 24 mos straight. I really don't know if I'll go back on them. I haven't noticed much improvement.
Does anyone want to come to my pity party?? I wouldn't blame you if you didn't. It's not much fun here.
JoAnne

Hi joalo,
After 24 years with Lyme, if you want a pity party--well fine. You got it. Lots of hugs ...

Hi JoAnne, We'll make an exception in your case and we can all come to your pity party.
That'll give you one great big group hug. You certainly deserve it!!
Sending lots of Birthday Wishes! May the next year be healthier and happier for you!!
By the way, are you from North Carolina or Northern California? My Lyme brain wasn't sure.

Happy birthday, Joanne - we're about the same age - I turned 54 on Saturday. And I got bit at age 27. So we have a similar timespan.
Even though I was suffering, I tried to be involved in meaningful activities of one kind or another through the years, anything that I thought had some value to me and others.
Not easy when we are sick, but I think we have more life that way...

Happy birthday Jo anne
I got sick at 10 disabled at 23 and am now 31 so i know the duration of symptoms disrupting (to put it mildly) my life does have an impact and makes holidays (especailly birthdays) not always have the joy it should.
Since you are not on abx (so probaly dont have to worry about yeast) I hope you got to have some cake and ice cream. No pity party is complete without chocolate cake and ice cream.
Have you been tested/treated for coinfections? If it were me and i hadnt noticed much improvement in my symptoms ..i would have my dr investigate coinfections.

robin123- You are so right!! I do volunteer work (sewing cat beds) for the animal shelter and I also help collect (personal) supplies for our troops. Doing these things really does help me feel like I am contributing something to the world. Thank you for responding!
azure wish- I am gluten intolerant and lactose intolerant sooo no cake or ice cream for me!! We have been treating babsesia and ehrichia so far. Babesia is a huge problem for me. Sending hugs back to you!
