Hi everyone,

I have been trying really hard to educate local doctors about lyme and it's dx/treatment.

I have finally made a breakthrough...YAY!!!!!

A local doctor thinks he might have lyme disease. He asked to speak to me about it about a month ago. I met with him and we talked for well over an hour.

I suggested he attend the recent conference in CT. He offered for me to go to but I was to ill to go.

I heard news tonight that he was very happy he went. He is going to be taking the 2 week course offered to MDs.

I am so happy that someone has finally listened to me. He is an older doctor and pretty well known in our community. I hope if he takes this on others will follow.

Just thought that I would share.

Hi Kit. I am very interested b/c I am in PA (suburban Philly) I have an ILADS doc who I love but really feel I need just a regular GP as an adjunct who is Lyme Literate for issues that come up that are not really in the domain of my LLMD.... like if I just want a check up, or if I sprained my ankle or something....

So, I am not looking for a new LLMD at all, but just a GP who understands my history, issues etc who I could go to the way "normal" people have a family doctor...

Thanks for sharing my good news with me.

I will be sure to post after he gets his training.

I am not in SE PA. I am in Northeast. We are about 30 minutes from the Scranton/Wilkes Barre area.

I will let everyone know when I hear more.

Great news!

Can we send him here to Kentucky...no LLMDs here or doctors willing to learn. Grrrrrr!

Feel so alone here.

It is great news. It is a shame that there aren't more doctors willing to learn.

It has taken me since 1996 to convince a doctor to start looking further into lyme disease.

I am tired of being sick and tired of being an educator to doctors.

I guess it will be worth it though when this doctor is able to help others.
