Good morning all.

Well someone parked a huge moving van......er Herx truck outside my door! [Eek!]

Talk about paying dearly for over doing it. [Frown]

I really wanted to pace myself for this move.

Enter husband.

His idea of moving is grabbing everything randomly and throwing it in the new house. [dizzy]

Holy Cow!

I have done more carrying, lifting, sorting, cleaning that I've done in the last 2+ years.

No way near finished either.

I woke up yesterday as sick as could be.

Shaking all over.

Joint pain (hadn't had that in a long, long time).

Night sweats. Great. Hadn't had those in over 2 months.

I knew that this move would be big.

However, I also thought that "when I get in the new house" (litany I say to myself over and over),

That my stress levels would drop.

Not!!!!! [Eek!]

I am living (or feel like I am dying) proof that over doing it can and will cost you.

Good news is that hubby is off to work today.

So, I am able to move more slowly.

Bad news is that I could do this everyday for the next month and be no where close to finish.

Ah well. Not whining for sure. So glad to finally "get" there.

Just a heads up for those newer members that too much is not good for you.

Will keep you all updated as I can. Computer is still in old house (no phone line yet).

No rest for the weary. [Smile]

Hugs,

Geneal

I'm paying for overdoing it from last Thursday till Sunday, but I'm not moving like you are!

Have hubby stack all the boxes in the basement or storage room .... but put the kitchen stuff in the kitchen. Then just empty them as you are able.

That is how I did it when we moved. I was really sick then and hadn't been diagnosed yet.

Take it easy, the stress does nothing for you.

Geneal,
Last time we moved our children were 10 and under. Sometimes you just can't help overdoing
when you have a family. It is a hard price to pay.

We stacked everything in the garage. I set up the kitchen, then had the kids rooms set up. I wanted them to feel settled as quickly as possible.

Then I took my time. My goal was just a few boxes a day. I would look at the pile in the morning and just think that I would never get
through it. But little by lttle it did get done.

I did organize the boxes and everything was labeled. Even being as organized as I could, it
took time.

Your health is more important than a pile of boxes. If your children are old enough, maybe they can have a goal of one box a day.

Good luck, moving is never easy. We just have
more of a challenge, just take care of yourself
first.

I'm paying for doing PT, and it's really not optional, if I want to use my right arm again.

I tried the slow method of unpacking and now 14 months later I'm still at it! [bonk] I don't think there is an easy way for us to move.

Get some rest, and then slow down your pace. The stuff is not going anywhere. [Big Grin]

Go as slowly as you can!! Wish I could come help!! ( not that I'd be of much REAL help!! )

When we moved in Feb, most everything went into the garage unless I knew exactly which room it should go into.

Half the junk is still in the garage. Who cares!? [lol]

Most of it is out of the way and lining the walls of the garage. I can still get the car inside. Cool!! [Cool]

Please take care of yourself and leave plenty of time for sleeping each night!!!!

I don't know about you but I think there is a relationship between adrenaline and lyme.

My adrenaline alone would have been very high with the thought of moving and then wanting to get settled in.

Then, I would have the crash.

Been there. Done that. Took months to recover.

Having help is good but also tricky.

Praying you will get some good help and hoping husband's boss will have some over time for him to pay for the help. [Smile] and keep husband busy while you are settling in.

How about camp for the kids. [Smile]

Just...darn can't recall what that is..brain storming??

Take care of you!

I just knew you all would understand.

Computer is now officially installed in new house.

Yay!!!! [Smile]

I did about 8 loads of laundry with about 30 more to go. [dizzy]

My neighbors, God Bless them, came and got my children to play with their child.

They had my rug rats from about 2:30 to almost 8:00.

I got a book case moved. A table moved. Toys moved.

Had a quiet dinner with husband and then went and gathered up my children.

I have to admit though a bath (a real one in a garden tub) is absolute heaven. [Smile]

My children think it is heaven too. [Big Grin]

I did better today without the husband. Was able to sit when I had to.

Problem was I didn't want to get up.

Lots of hugs and kisses to you all.

[group hug] [kiss]

I can so relate! I made a whirlwind 1,000 trip to Texas and back for Father's Day and today I can hardly move. First thing I did last night was soak in my big ole garden spa tub. Best upgrade we made when we moved in to our new home 2 years ago!!!

Congrats on all the firsts in your new home. And remember... it will all get done! Some day, some how. It took you 3 years to get into this house... so what if it takes you another 3 to unpack!?
