8 years since infected - finally diagnosed - will start Rocephin tomorrow am concerned about gall bladder issues - can any one offer any experience/feedback? Many thanks!

You may want to post tis in medical for more attention.

rocephin can cause gall bladder problems. It is not true gallstones, but actually chrystalized rocephin.

some have problems, some do not. I was 8 weeks rocephin and did not have a problem.

Some take actigall as a preventitive. i did not.

Everyone is different. Try not to worry about it too much.

I developed gallstones and then my gallbladder pretty much stopped working while on rocephin.
I was warned of the risk by the doctor, but not given any preventative medication.

Gallbladder had to be removed.

I also developed just about every problem you could think of while on the rocephin though...so it was not JUST my gallbladder.

I seem to that "1 out of 10" or whatever.... that always gets the bad side effect.
