I contracted Lyme in Maryland back in 1997 but have since moved to the Sunshine State. I live in Estero mid-way between Ft. Myers and Naples. Currently, the closest Lyme support group is in Sarasota and I simply can't travel that far.
I would really like to hook up with other Lyme folks in this area to trade referrals, resources, etc. If there's enough interest, I would also like to start a support group for this area.
Thanks! Dave Jossi

Hey hey in the Sunshine state!
NICE place to be!!! Sorry I am stuck in Maryland now.. because the temperatures are dropping slowly but surely. Been thinking already it is time to load up on firewood... or head back to your area!!!
I don't know of any groups closer to you... so sorry.
The folks at the Gulf Coast Group have always been kind and accomadating.. so maybe they would know of something closer?
Here is their contact information in case you want to check with them.
You might also check with the Lyme Disease Association of Southeast Florida. Good information there too.
I'll see if we can get someone to contact you about the group.
Also... you might want to check out these groups listed below to get an idea what is going on.. in the event you want to start something in your area. Some are in the northern part of the state... but they are quite smart about the rest of the state and may be able to direct you to others in your area.
In the meantime... you may also want to locate the Florida Lyme Yahoo Group that is online. They may be another source of information for you. You can check with Phyllis Mervine of the California LDA to get their contact information.
I think having a group would be nice. Wishing you LOTS of luck!!!
See you soon... I hope! As soon as the first snow flakes hit.. I turn into a flake and will be crying to head south again! HA!
