I answered a PM concerning HBO and I thought I'd share my response with all of you.

Some of you already know about us, but I'm sure there are those who do not.

Our daughter is a 30 year old young lady who contracted Lyme Disease at the age of 18. (Confirmed tick bite at Lion's Camp in Ojai, CA).

At the age of 23 (year 2001) she began having all of the typical symptoms; flu-like feelings, fatique, migraines, joint & muscle pain, neurological impairment, speech problems, memory problems, etc., etc.

We spent more than 3 1/2 years chasing after a correct diagnosis, all-the-while Nikki was getting worse.

She was so ill in 2005 we were absolutely desperate to get her help. She was in a wheelchair and had moved back into our home because she just couldn't work or take care of herself.

In Sept 2005 she finally saw a LLMD in Northern California and was properly diagnosed with Lyme, Bartonella, and Babesia. What a God sent young man this doctor has been for our daughter.

In February 2006 she had a PICC line inserted in her arm and began infusing Rocephin and other antibiotics.

The Rocephin made her feel even worse, but after about 6 months she started to show real improvements. It was at this time that her LLMD decided she was ready for Hyperbaric O2 treatments.

We took a leave-of-absense from our jobs and took her to Chico CA for 8 weeks of HBO treatments.

All during the 8 weeks she continued to take Rocephin and several other antibiotics, both oral and IV.

The first 4 weeks of her HBO treatment were the worse. She only had the strength to go to her 45 minute dives twice a day and then back to bed until the next day.

After the fourth week, we could really see the difference.

First of all, the migraines went away completely. Then the overall fatique and weakness started to show improvements.

I could go on and on, but the bottom-line is that she really started to look and feel better those last 4 weeks.

The improvement in her overall condition continued after we got her back home.

I have told others that I would estimate that with the combination of Rocephin and HBO my daughter regained about 75% of her health.

The last key for her improvement has been colonics. This type of detox is the only one that has proved effective for her.

She's not cured by any stretch of the imagination, but she's better.

About 4 months ago she made a decision to stop taking any medicine at all. No anitbiotics, no supplements, no herbs, nothing.

She went on a trip to Montana to visit a friend for 4 weeks, she was able to drive again, she just started to be her old self.

Now she's starting to regress quite a bit. She's probably going to have to have another infusion line inserted (this time in her chest wall instead of her arm).

She's not as sick as she was and her LLMD thinks about 9 months of IV antibiotics will bring her even closer to wellness.

It's been quite a trip these past 7 years, but there is hope ahead. We've seen the difference proper care can provide.

We know the difference that prayer can make.

I just hope all goes well for you regardless of what you decide.

There are a lot of people out here who know what you're going through and there are many who have improved dramatically with the right combinations of care.

Lymedad,

Thanks for sharing you story. I was just thinking of asking for an update. You must hve read my mind.

I'm glad to hear that your daughter is doing so well even if she isn't at 100% yet. I know compared to where she was it is 100%

I am so glad that I am the one who is sick and it isn't one of my children that is suffering.

It would kill me to watch them go through this.

Nikki is lucky to have such an awesome father! You are her hero!! [kiss]

Hi Lymedad! I pm'd you a while ago to get an update. I'm glad you did.

My daughter continues to make improvement. She is taking a full course load at school this semester. A challenge, but she's doing it.

I wanted to ask you if your daughter has had spine pain? That's the last thing we need to deal with, and I'm trying to find the right direction.
