I thought I sent this earlier, but it doesn't seem to have posted. If I put it up there twice, please accept my apologies.

I like to have a protein shake for breakfast, and have recently switched from soy protein to whey protein. I feel much better on the whey protein, but I HATE the taste.

I have tried Jarrow Vanilla and Naturade Vanilla. Now I have two giant jars of the stuff staring at me every morning.

Has anyone had any luck masking the taste of the whey? I'm not a big fan of bananas in my shake. Other than that, anything goes.

Thank you! Mazou

I don't like the taste either and I was blending up some frozen fruit and the whey to make a thin and not too sugary smoothie. It was a lot better that way, er, I mean, that whey.

You can mix it with natural peanut butter to make peanut butter balls. I keep some in the fridg for snacks. Some add Splenda, but I like them just with whey and PB.

Someone here posted that recipe some time back, and I have always been grateful, as I'm always looking for good-for-you snacks.

I used to take liquid magnesium, so nothing tastes bad after that.

Basically, I say to just shake in a small glass jar and down the stuff. Don't make it your meal but then enjoy your breakfast, separately. I recall from years ago when I used this that it was NOT to be put in blender or even stirred with a metal spoon. I was told to shake in a glass jar to keep it at its best. Of course, opinions differ.

Add a drop or two of Sweet Leaf Stevia Clear (it's from a plant source) and a little more vanilla - that will bring it up a notch.

Artificial sweeteners are best to avoid, especially nutrasweet/aspartame/Equal. That is toxic to our brain cells and can cause hyper-excitability.

I use two different whey protiens and YES it is better to use whey that Soy. One I get from Henry's grocery store (owned by "wild oats") called "Show me the Whey"....how cute is that. Tastes really good! Get the regular flavor not strawberry or chocolate.

The other one I really like, which has 20g protein per serving is "biochem", and it is on sale right now at Henry's (aka Wild Oats") and it mixes instantly. If you don't have those stores in your area, maybe you can look it up somewhere.

Bananas help make the shake tste a little better. Try frozen muxed fruit, too! I love my whey drinks!

Wow, I totally spaced out and didn't realize there were responses to this post! So I am not alone, huh.

I will definitely try the suggestions, and let you know what works. Thank you!

1. add unsweetened cocoa and whey protien mix
