This month, I am "celebrating" my 1st year anniversary of being correctly diagnosed and having started treatment for Lyme and co-infections.
To document such an occasion, I decided to make up a year in review naughty & nice list. Not listed in any special order- just Lyme brain random thoughts... Please feel free to add your own.
NICE:
1.LLMD that saw me as a person, not a problem. 1st to test for Lyme after 2 years of seeing specialists.
2.LLMD's staff that answered my MANY questions and took everything seriously.
3.Family that has supported me in everything I'm doing to get healthy and have given everything.
4.Lymenet friends and local Lyme support friends that are always available, always supportive!
5.My faith-My God
6. Under Our Skin DVD- I'm not alone and I can get better! Great to share with others who want to understand.
7. Cure Unknown book-easy to follow information
8. Infared Sauna-warm and soothing- my time alone Gift from family!
9. My improving health, no matter how slow. I have made a lot of baby steps and hope to one day soon leap for joy!
NAUGHTY:
1. Many so called specialists at 2 nationally ranked hospitals thinking it was all in my head so they sent me to the next specialists for more tests (not one tested for/or mentioned Lyme once)
2. My insurance company refusing to pay for LLMD, tests, and anything else they can get away with-which is most everything
3. People around me that just don't get it because they don't want too, don't have time, or just "don't" for whatever reason
4. Everyone (too many to list)responsible for the withholding information, finances, and help in regards to Lyme research.

Just Don- Good question. I also love my NEW Select Comfort. Search this on medical forums. My old bed, and others, were found to have black mold. Getting a new bed and detoxing the mold made a big difference in my on going recovery.
Select Comfort still has not had a recall on these toxic beds and they remain on my naughty list until they make a public recall and admit to the potential damage they are doing to their customers.
Check your bed- inside under the foam. If you have mold, call..they will replace it for free because they know they are in the wrong.

Thanks,
I MUST not have that,,,I replaced my mattresses a while back. It would be on top of the air chamber ,,,right??
I knew alot of people had probs with there air pumps,,,where it leaks back faster than it pumps up.
never heard of the mold issues tho,,,is that confined to a certain age of bed?
guess the air mattresses werent the problem,,,i still use the old ones for camping purposes,,,I can take a bed where ever I go pitch it down throw a blanket on it,,,good to go
ANYWHEREI can find 3 foot by 6 foot of open space, floor whatever.
ONLY difference is the foot high platform the bed sits on.

1. There is half-round tile protruding around my shower stall for me to hold on to so I don't get dizzy and fall on the glass surround. It served no purpose before now.
2. The Abx is working and I have a few days when I am nearly symptom free.
3. I am so weak in the legs that when I put the winter blanket on my horse
I have to crouch down to reach the straps on the other side of his belly.
He stands firm allowing me to grab the blanket sides to pull myself back up to my feet again.
4. It is so very slow at my work I can go in late on my "bad" days and the boss is glad to pay for part time work instead of full time.
5. My family has been supportative and kind.
6. I have learned much from this web-site and made some friends.
Naughty:
1. I'm afraid of the shower, step stool, stairs or anything elevated as I get dizzy and nearly black out.
A constant reminder my Lyme is neurological and in my brain.
2. I am only into treatment for 6 months now and have so much further to go.
3. I can't ride my horse. Even if I could get up on top of him, I would be dizzy and couldn't stay there.
If I fell off, I would probably get hurt.
4. It's been so slow at work, I fear the company will not make it. It's a really good company, nearly 30 years old. It would be so sad.
Also working part time is not paying for my medical bills very well - my insurance won't cover anything either.
5. My husband has been great, but still thinks I just need to go to the Gym to strengthen my legs. He thinks I'm just out of shape.
He doesn't understand when I don't feel good enough to go work out.
6. No matter how much I learn about Lyme, I still have to deal with the ignorance of the ER doctor who says:
"There is not such thing as Chronic Lyme and we are doing harm by taking long term Abx."
