Okay, maybe not the way it sounds. [Wink]

My boys (2 and almost 5) just cannot seem to get well and stay well.

They get over one cold/bronchitis/ear infection and seem to go right into another one within a week or two. [dizzy]

We' re without any insurance right now, so i don't want to keep running them to the doctor; half the time they just say it's a virus anyway and can't do anything for them.

I get so frustrated--do other people's kids get sick this much? They don't go to daycare, only to the nursery at church.

Last year I got them flu shots, and things were just as bad last year as this year when I didn't get them the flu shot.

Of course, they keep passing stuff to me (I guess). I can't get rid of the sore throats, stuffiness and sometimes all-out sinus infections.

My ears always feel plugged, and I get a lot of dizziness and motion sickness. [toilet]

ARGH!!!! What can I do besides put us ALL in a bubble for 6 months out of the year?!?!?!

My daughter had bacterial pneumonia twice in 10 days 2 years ago.

She was 5 then.

All types of illnesses including colds, bronchitis, etc.

It wasn't until I had them tested for Lyme that I realized why

They were always getting ill.

Mine love a chewable vitamin C that we get from GNC.

That helps boost their immine system.

It helps boost mine too.

Can you qualify for your state Medicaid program?

It may be worth checking out.

After Katrina, with both my husband and I unemployed

And without a home, we applied for it and received it for one year.

It was so helpful.

Hope you all get to feeling better soon.

Hugs,

Geneal

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles.

You've probably heard this a million times, but I firmly believe it to be true - make sure they wash their hands frequently, and you too. I also keep dispensers of hand sanitizer everywhere for when it's not convenient to go wash with soap and water. I even have one on my counter in the office for sickos who come in and try to infect me!

Should a cold still find you, I highly recommend Zicam to shorten the duration. I have stopped a cold in it's tracks many time with this med. No, I don't sell the stuff!

Have you joined www.lymefriends.com? We have a great group there for Lyme Parents, it might be a great place to find support and suggestions.

Do you have air purifiers in the home? They sure seem to help me.

Also, will the local health department see them? They sometimes have special insurance programs or deals for kids.

Gargle is warm salt water may kill enough of the bacteria to help too. Might help your ear problem by gargling for a few days.

And I HAD to laugh at the title of your post. I've kinda felt that way too sometimes.

[lol]

Have you experimented with limiting their dairy intake? I know that often leads to increased colds and congestion.

Thanks for all the input.

We do all the handwashing, but it just doesn't seem to help.

I've had doctors and others say that it's perfectly normal and actually good for them to be getting all these "little" infections, as it trains their immune systems to fight off major illnesses later.

Yeah, they're not the ones dealing with the 103 fevers in the middle of the night or having to hear your kids barking like seals at 3 am.

Believe me, I'm going to be asking some questions when i see the LLMD next month. i told me hubby to be prepared to be tested too, and the kids as well.

We pulled a dog tick (even though we have no dogs) off my older son a couple years ago, when I was first starting to hear of LD.

I told his doctor, but she blew it off because it was the wrong kind of tick.

I've just been wondering about it ever since I started on my Lyme journey.

I have a12 yr old daughter who is fighting Mono. It is a long lasting illness which has the same symptoms as you are describing. I had to tell the doctor she has it and demand they test her for it.

A note on Mono...People who have had mono show negative for lyme. For some reason, the mono that stays in your blood messes up the lyme tests.
