I had an appointment with my lyme doctor tomorrow...interesting how I got a call this morning telling me that my appointment was cancelled as they "do not see lyme patients."
Interesting how they saw Lyme patients a month ago...and the month before that...and so on.

I had a HUGE argument with my internist 2 years ago. He pretty much said "at the point where the spirochetes mix with your own DNA -- there isn't much point in treating it with Abx because you are then fighting yourself"
This was a heated discussion, to the point where he was backing his entire desk away from me. He would rather treat "Fibromyalgia" and write books about that because no one can take away his license.
HUH??? They'll treat acne with Abx so people can look good but heaven help you if you want them to feel good. Then you are just an Abx seeker.
Do you have another diagnosis that you can use to see this doc, MirandaVB?

Dr. L diagnosed me with Lyme back in August, been going there for follow ups for it. then today I got a message saying there was a mix up with paper work, that I was no longer a patient because they do not take Lyme patients.

Miranda,
You might PM the poster above me for another name. BettyG may come along with another list for you, too.
METALLIC BLUE (Mike) also has a list. You can email (email, yes) Mike at: [email protected]

To help you understand why your lyme doctor (LLMD?) seems to have gotten amnesia you may want to read what is happening to another lyme doctor in Maryland.
That MD's blog, explaining that he is under investigation simply for treating chronic lyme with antibiotic long-term. Your lyme doctor may be reacting to that (and if so, it's understandable).

I had a PCP from the beginning that was frightened for his medical license for treating me. Yes, the Lord blessed me early on with a Intern that called it lyme, even with 2 negative WB from Labcorp.
He was so excited when I went to a LLMD and finally had a highly positive Western Blot from Igenex for lyme.
He breathed a sigh of relief that he no longer would need to explain his treatments early on. This Intern still (10 yrs), lists Chronic Lyme Disease as my first dx, with many other dx following it.
It is just so sad that people are being turned away from care for lyme & co. Can you image a doc turning away a cancer patient and giving them no other options?
Some day this will change. I believe!!!!

P.M. Me. I want to make sure I know this is the correct Dr. L that I think it is.
Whoever is not taking new patients, let me know.
