Hi All,

I had posted about my meeting with (NJ) state Senator Van Drew and thought some might be interested in a follow up.

Prior to speaking with Senator Van Drew, I had written both Senators, my congressman and the Governor (all NJ representatives). Both of the Senators had basically ignored my letters (not even a reply) and the Governor's office did little more than send me on repeated games of phone tag.

Shortly after meeting with NJ State Senator Van Drew, I received requests for more information (about Lyme disease) from both Senators Lautenberg and Menendez. I compiled the same information (given to Senator Van Drew) and sent it to the two US Senators (from NJ).

The list includes:

Articles about Lyme disease

My book (a story about my experience with Lyme)

Symptoms list

Chronological order

Medical reports

Medications list

Responses from SS and politicians

Test results

Senator Van Drew's office has maintained contact with me, and I've frequently updated them (as requested) as events unfold. I haven't heard anything back from the two US Senators (yet), but that is to be expected (these things take time).

On a side note: I have mailed requests to numerous shows (Oprah, etc...) in an effort to get them to do a show on the subject of Lyme disease. While money is certainly tight, (thanks to my illness) I have also included a copy of my book (with each request) in the hopes that the shows will find the topic worthwhile. Thus far I've received no response, but I will continue asking them to cover a topic that affects the lives of millions.

Hopefully others are doing the same.

If we can get Oprah (or some other big name) to do a show, we might just make a splash with the politicians too.
