I've had MRI's and there is no white matter. Does this mean no Lyme?

I have had an MRI when my lyme symptoms were at their peak (right around the time I got diagnosed) and there was no white matter.... and I definitely have lyme!

2. Do LLMD's usually order an MRI as part of a diagnosis ?

Not necessarily. Maybe if there are neurological symptoms, especially that could also be something else in need of quick dx.

A seasoned LLMD knows how to read symptoms. An MRI is not always needed and will usually not really show much of anything.

My mother told me once after my MRI that she was just thrilled to know I actually had a brain.

She admitted sometimes she wondered about that.

Non-specific white masses on the MRI are indicative of Lyme, though many also use them as an insta-diagnosis for MS. If you don't have them it doesn't mean you don't have lyme, but rather that certain structural damage isn't visible or hasn't been done. That doesn't mean there isn't a blood flow impairment, or other factors affecting you neurologically that would be impossible to see on any kind of scan.

I'm pretty sure I have Lyme, and I had an MRI when everything started.

Nothing showed up, so I was declared completely healthy.

The arrogant SOB neurologist also told my, "I have seen Lyme Disease. You do NOT have Lyme Disease."
