It seems like it's so easy to get and especially in tick infested areas, how can one NOT have it?

In analyzing my own symptoms and wondering about my significant other and father, it just makes me wonder.

Neither of them would EVER get tested because they would never think of having it.

Just tonight, my b/f was complaining about significant back pain. He will also wake up

at night from time to time sweating, though that could be from our weiner dogs that lay next to us

and are like OVENS! :-) Anyway, I was just wondering. I'm trying to decide if I want to spend the $$$ and go back to my LLMD to see what he thinks.

I would definitely go to LLmd about symptoms as then longer you wait the more established it will become in the body. Good luck. We know now that a treatment protocol that goes after lyme and co infections at once with herbal support is how people are getting into remission. I am one of those..Lymfriends is a great website for support and dr. information and people in remission. I wish the best for you and maybe you can join us as lymefriends. Blessings,
Trish

I think a lot of people are exposed, and carry a certain level of the bacteria. Then, if their immunity is compromised, due to stress or other factors, the bacteria takes over as it gets out of balance.

I grew up in an endemic area. When the people I know go on antibiotics for any reason (like a throat infection or something), they get crazy sick, just like a Lyme herx. So, I think its "in there" just not fully activated.

That is my humble, uneducated opinion.

I wonder this too, with as many people as I hear of complaining of strange symptoms that they can't seem to find a cause for.

Just today a friend asked about my symptoms, as she's worried about her little girl.

She's been having these odd fevers that come and go, fatigue, pain in her legs, and just other weird things.

I told her to get to the doctor ASAP and get her tested! And I said if she doesn't get any satisfaction from her doctor, I'd give her my LLMD's contact info.

And I've talked to people at church who are complaining of the same things.

I get the feeling some people are starting to think I'm a Lyme Loon or something, but I can't help it.

I know the hell I've been through the past 9 months, and i just don't want anyone else to have to go through it too.

So when you say a tx protocol using herbs, does that also include abx?

I was taking Zithromax and Flagyl together plus a probiotic and 1 Diflucan weekly for 9 months. I took one of the abx daily and the other was M-W-F I think.

It's been 8 years now since I've been off abx. I'm sure herbs are MUCH cheaper but how can they possibly work better than meds?

Also, with IV tx, can that be a shot or is it an actual line? How you would do that and go to work, work out, shop, etc?

I think my cousin might have LD. She was bitten by a tick 6 years ago and started having migrating pains shortly after that. She has not gotten any other symptoms, except she said sometimes her throat feels tight.

She knows all about my journey with LD, but she doesn't seem that concerned about herself. I guess she is waiting for it to get really bad.

How long does it take to GET bad? She's had it for 6 years with only 1, possibly 2 symptoms?

I think my older brother has it. He's a veterinarian. He had bell's palsy, a red facial rash, and became so obsessive and depressed that he tried to commit suicide. He was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism.

I tried to tell him he might have Lyme but he doesn't want to hear it. He is on lithium and seems to be stable but he still doesn't act like he used to.

I believe that there are thousands and thousands who are infected and don't know it.

I personally can think of at least 8 people just within my circle of family and friends, whom I believe have it.

Wow.....just a little history: my father had a stint put in for a mostly blocked artery several years ago. For the past few years, he's battled chronic knee and hip pain, which has caused him to stop playing golf and he had the knee scoped which has helped SOME. He thinks he'll have to get a hip replacement in the next few years. He has floaters and said he also has some of the symptoms I complain of. He was in a swat team many years ago and they would go off through the woods and look for drugs and such and said he's found ticks on him. He also did EVERYTHING outside when he was young. Since they had no toys, they played outside. :-)

My boyfriend seems to get fevers easily which sick and then will sweat it off, has had rotator cuff injuries in BOTH shoulders in the past year, has knee problems if he over uses them (says it's from running), complains of low back pain and feeling stiff a lot. SOOOOOO, I wonder...............
